If being Christian is so great, why is the music so bad?

Please investigate before complaining. Contemporary Christian music is so much more varied than one would suspect. If you know nothing about Christian artists just say so. It's not fair to imply there are no African American Christian artists out there when you don't even listen to them. Nicole C. Mullins is spectacular songwriter whose songs on could never forget. Fred Hammond is a great tenor singer who matches Brian McKnight and Barry White, sans the love-making innuendos. It's just a matter of opinion on what you think is bland and lifeless. If you think Garbage, Nine Inch Nails, Cibo Matto and Tori Amos have life, then maybe you cannot get into most Christian music. Try listening to some Jars of Clay, Rebcca St. James, Sara Groves or Sean Groves and give me a ring on what you think of their lyrics and melodies. Maybe then I can get a feel on what you actually think is wrong with Christian music.

May I please assume that you're not looking to listen to Christian music on a day-to-day basis? I consider Nichole Nordeman very creative aside from a Stevie Wonder remake, but who doesn't remake songs? I think you might be pleased with her music, but I only said "might". I don't know your taste in music... Other creative songwriters/musicians, to me: Cindy Morgan, Chris Rice and Dc Talk.
