Yeah I rember that game
some insanely funny/frustrating game where you controlled a paper plane through a house.
Oh man! That game was like heroin! I think it was called "glider" or air glider I had a later, color version, of it for Mac where you could get rubber bands and batteries.
Oh jesus, I can still here the music that made you all nervous to get to the next room.

Fable
Oh, You can change alignments just by donating at the temples! Man i had to wipe out an entire village of civilians just to get some freakin horns!
By the way, speaking of vidio game alignmnets, does anyone here feel guilty if they do something bad in a vidio game?
I am always wracked with guilt whenever I so much as use the "treaten option" (if a game has one) on a shopkeep.

You make it sound so hollow
You're going to level up about 50-60 times, each time gaining an incremental boost in power as well as the occasional new ability on the skill tree; you're going to collect incrementally better weapons and armor.
God, you make it sound so hollow. So fuitless... Wait there are Fuits! there is that slightly better armor and sheild I can get if I can just figure out how to stop the farmers sheep form dying. Ohh ohh and there is that slightly larger knapsack. Ah, and if I just get a few more XP I will be able to cast HURTMORE... wait why is it all bright outside all of a sudden?

So you get to burn things? That's pretty cool... burning things is up there with hitting things. And I suppose I could still yell monster names.
I think the most fun part of the game for me is yelling monster names.

Re: Yeah I rember that game
Checked it up. Glider, made in 88 (by a single genious) and oft updated since then.
And regarding your gamma problem; I think it's some sort of bug with the TnL on certain computers, especially those sold in certain areas. Just wait a while and it will go away. Word is that they will release a serie of patches this winter, and that most of the problem will be gone around January.
Oh, and maxed Hydra for life!

Re:
Starcraft remains my favorite RTS game. I have never forgiven Blizzard for failing to follow-through and put out newer versions. I have recently become re-addicted to Command and Conquer - Tiberian Sun/Firestorm. I don't know why. I usually hate "horde" type games. However, creating a random map with two or three computer opponents on a "mutated" planet with the "lifeform" option turned on and the AI cranked up to "2" makes for a very challenging game. Assuming you survive the first 15 minutes, that is...

It's more like, I never feel like "evil" is really represented as a character choice in games. On one hand, you have "good", and then your only other choices are "selfish" and sometimes "insane."
So in games where it matters (Knights of the Old Republic) I usually wind up doing the "good" thing, because I can never see what I have to gain from the "bad" thing.

Def Jam II and videogame counterparts
Has anyone else played Def Jam II? It's the most fun I've had playing a fighting game since Soul Calibur II; more so when the custom characters are considered. It's great because my character looks IDENTICAL to me, with the exception of his haircut.

Half-Life 2
Has anyone else played it yet? I hardly ever play Comp Games, but I got it last Tuesday and beat it by Friday. It IS without a doubt the best computer game ever made! The graphics are amazing beyond the capablities of even top of the line gaming PCs. The physics are hellatight. And the puzzles and combat are awesome. Counter Strike Source is pretty sweet too.

I played Final Fantasy X with my neice and was very impressed. And that Shiva was so beautiful! I didn't like FF X-2 very much though. I hope FF XII is better.
If you like playing multiplayer strategy games checkout Evernight. It's very fun and well done and offers free games so you can check out if you like it. You play it in your browser.

Re: Fable
I did not find Fable too short as Loudmouth did. But then, I prefer a good game that is short than a long repetitive game. And since there are a lot of good games, rather have them short so I can try them all
I also usually feel bad if I am evil in a game. In Star Wars KOTOR I threatened to kill the shopkeeper who had the protocol droid (who turns out to be an assasin droid) because I did not have enough money to buy him. His pleading response actually made me feel bad so I reloaded and spent an hour trying to get enough cash so that I could just pay him. In the end, I ended up playing an almost 100% good character. Since most of the characters are faily unresponsive in Fable (unless you flirt with or throw up on them), I am curious to see what happens when you act like a sociopath in the game....like a good old bolt of lightening in the head when someone say "You sure don't look like a chicken chaser to me"

I had the advantage that I did not really follow the hype or the development process. So my expectations were not so high. For that reason I think Halo2 will be a disappointment because I did follow the development hype.

Re: Half-Life 2
HL2 is not released in Europe yet, sadly, although I'm not a great fan of puzzle games so play relatively few FPS's. I also hear nasty rumours that it seizes the save game files of one of my other games, Nexus: the Jupiter incident.
