because he is a part of what God is. I think that the interpretation of things, and the understanding of things, is what men usually have a hard time understanding.
There is no other God that forseas over the things that Jesus Christ does. *this is a really bad comment, but I'm going to leave it in because I'm really bad at communicating effectively sometimes. It's like the Marine Corps. They are all Marines. but there can only be one General that forseas all things. even though there are Generals just like him, they are servants unto him. here is how you could liken it. ***** (5-star) General = God.***** (5-star) General = Christ. ***** (5-star) General = The Holy Ghost. ***** (5-star) Generals = The Hosts of Heaven, Angels. **** (4-star) Generals (men), Wait to inherit Eternal life to become ***** (5-star) Generals = Saints, because they follow God's Commandments. They are all 5-star Generals (with the exception of men), however, only 1 can preside over all of them. They mabye all Gods, in one degree or another, yet there can only be 1(one) God to preside over them. all the heirs of Eternal salvation become Gods as God is, but God can only be God if he is maintaining his Presidence over all of them, (which trust me, God wouldn't have a problem doing because they all love him.[and ofcourse, he is who created them, so how could he not have presidence over them.]) A God is anyone who inherits the Kingdom of God.A God is anyone who inherits Eternal Salvation. yes, but see the thing is is that you understand that God uses Living Prophets. God is Eternal. Do you not Understand that because God is Eternal, and that because he uses Living Prophets, that he will always make sure that he always has a Living Prophet down here so that men can be rightly guided by his Light?
The Bible only covers the Generally Specific History of the Earth up until Christ decided to start taking over and made his new testament. The bible is the word of God, but it is not all that God has to say. Armaggeddon

lol
because they "prey" on everybody, not just young, vulnerable people on college campuses. The will of the Lord is to be made known unto all those who accept it. you can't expect human beings to know who's going to accept it or not until first, they can read their mind, or second, they ask them. We can't force you to believe in God. We can only plead that you would believe. Besides, who do you think that God should look like? yeeahhh...just a tad judgemental, IMHO. There's no need for all this 'you are wicked' stuff, methinks

Justice,
the Bible says there is only one God. I'm actually addressing this in more detail, in another thread, here :Msg 224 - How many Gods are there? . What makes you think that there are many gods and only one can preside over them? "In life, you have to face that some days you'll be the pigeon and some days you'll be the statue."

Justice writes: yes, but see the thing is is that you understand that God uses Living Prophets But the Bible says that there are no more prophets since John. There is no need for them because God has spoken through Jesus. "The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it." ( Luke 16:16 ) "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;" (Hebrews 1:1-2) Who do you expect me to believe - you or the Bible ? "In life, you have to face that some days you'll be the pigeon and some days you'll be the statue."

Joseph Smith was actually given fake documents to "translate" with his seeing stones, and amazingly he was able to translate them. I smells a rat. i do too, but i'd be interested to see some documentation on that one.

About a hundred years later, the papyri re-surfaced and -guess what- by that time hieroglyphic translation had been cracked, so the papyri were actually translated. Surprise, surprise they were not the story of Abraham or Joseph, but some Egyptian priest going about his ordinary life. i heard they were pages from the book of the dead, which is standard egyptian funeray rites, wrapped into mummies, and can be bought by tourists pretty cheap on the black market...

I think that the fake "documents" referred to were the Kinderhook plates. There's no doubt that the plates were fake - and the evidence indicates that Smith at first believed them to be genuine and claimed to have at least partially translated them. Smith never completed or published his translation
While I recognise the need to be careful in examining anti- as well as pro-LDS sites this looks reasonable: http://www.xmission.com/~research/central/trans15.htm This pro-Mormon reply concedes the factual evidence but denies that there was any translation: How Do We Explain Early Comments about the Kinderhook Plates? - FAIR

yes, I think they were standard funeral rites, nothing to do with Abraham and Joseph whatsoever. LDS members I've talked to, who knew of this affair, accept that the papyri for what they were, but don't acknowledge that J.Smith translated them to produce the book of Abraham.
Go figure, "In life, you have to face that some days you'll be the pigeon and some days you'll be the statue."

A Mormon historian recently was punished by the LDS church for writing a scholarly history of the Mormon people.
Apparently, the book was simply a dry history and did not proclaim religious doctrine as historical truth, so the author was "disfellowshiped" or something. Nice.

I think if he tried the second coming he'd get held up in the airport by racial profiling.
