Sorry about that
It sure looked like a misplaced message to me.
The topic can be reopened, but my guess is that the points have since been covered in the "What will become of marriage?" topic.

Re: the "Were there Dinosaurs in the Bible?" topic
The topic closing message.
I'm not up to getting into a long discussion of this matter.
Yes, my moderation efforts sometimes rely on instinct.
What I will say, is that topic closure (temporary or permanent) is the only sure way of topic drift (or derailment) control. As the topic had gone already gone 200 plus messages, I thought it probably had run its productive course. Thus I was strongly leaning towards permanent closure.
It would be most helpful if the more experienced members would not give long responses to off-topic material. Topic drift control needs the input (or maybe it's sometimes the non-input) of all the participants.
Well, there you have it. Another wishy-washy Adminnemooseus message.
I suggest you propose a successor topic, to pick up where the previous one was still going good.
Of course, still open to further feedback,
Adminnemooseus

Re: the "Questions on Evolution" topic
My topic closing message.
There I repeated what I had posted back in message 2 of that topic:
quote:
Kind of a hodge-podge topic.
Going to plug it into the "Short Subjects" forum. Let us get the questions answered, and then close the thing down.
The topic was poorly focused. There were actually several topics there. Rather than ask for edits or reject a topic from a newbee, I plugged it into the "Short Subjects" forum. As such, I only intended it to be open for a short time and number of messages.
The topic had drifted into areas outside of the themes of the opening message. If you wish to discuss any of the themes of the various messages there, in greater depth, you should propose a more specific topic, or find an appropriate existing topic.
As (most?) always, my decision is open to further discussion in this topic.

Re: the "I am a biblical creationist like Buz" topic
TO ALL: NOTE THAT I AM USING A SUBTITLE THAT IS ACTUALLY RELEVANT TO THE MESSAGE!
I am a biblical creationist like Buz
Mike - consider yourself blessed that the topic was open as long as it was. I almost shut it down right at the beginning. It is not "Coffee House" material, and should have been run through the "Proposed New Topics" process, before getting moved to the "Faith and Belief" forum.
That said, there probably are other "Coffee House" topics guilty of the same "Proposed New Topics" dodge. People, try to work with the system.

Besides, I don't like encouraging people who should know better, to bypass the "Proposed New Topics" forum and procedures.

I must assume the topic in question is "Proof and analysis of Biblical end time accuracey [Synnegi]".
AdminAsgara's topic closing message.
It seems that the topic was a terminal mess. At best, I'm uncertain that the most recent discussion there had much connection to the theme of the topic. I must support AA's decision to permanently close it.

Re: Noah and radioactivity
The topic in question is Radioactive Noah shining bluish in the darkness like smurfs.
I closed the topic because:
1) It bypassed the "Proposed New Topics" procedure, being a "Dates and Dating" type topic in the "Coffee House" forum.
2) I had doubts that it made standards to being promoted, even if it had been submitted to the "PNT" forum.
I didn't think it fair, to those who submit their topics to the "PNT", to let this topic get away with "the dodge".
I am leaving the topic closed pending futher discussion of the matter. After that, I suppose the topic could be given a short lifetime in the "Short (blue) Subjects" forum.

Re: Admin you will obey my command!
Couldn't find topic.
If you're going to be commanding, I suggest you have "AdminMike" reopen it.
Who do you think you're dealing with here?
My unwillingness to use profanity prevents me from answering that question.

Re: We're Not Going to Budge: Evos UNITE!
You pick an alias and stick with it, and I'll move the topic to the "Is It Science?" forum and reopen it. Sound like a fair deal?
I also think we need a better topic title, before the move is made.

ps to other admins: Yes, this topic is at 300 messages. Please leave it open until Mr. Alias of the Day and I resolve this issue.
