Terrorist or Freedom Fighter
O Most Hallowed MrAdminHambre: Although an interesting topic in and of itself, I was wondering why you felt DarkStar's OP required additional fleshing out before being promoted? He's essentially asking for opinions from the peanut gallery. It's entirely possible he may argue within that framework, but I don't see why the topic itself can't be promoted as is. Someone pleez 'splain this to me, por favor?

Aggregate Threads - Quetzal and Maestro
I appreciate AdminIRH moving my proposed topic into the main fora. I would like to suggest that Maestro's topic, although with possibly some overlap, is different enough that it might be better represented as its own thread.

Re: Aggregate Threads - Quetzal and Maestro
Very well. I accept your explanation - please ignore my reply in the thread. We'll just have to see where it goes - or if.

Randman: Evolution as Religion
I'd like to suggest promotion of the topic, possibly with a change in title. Rather than yet another "evolution is religion" bs topic, if Randman is willing to change the focus to a discussion of the Cambrian and the position of Haikouella as a basal deuterostome (or not) and its implications, I think that would be a very interesting topic.
Not that I actually think randman is capable of addressing the topic as a scientific one, someone else might be interested.
edited to add link: Evolution is religon says chinese

Changed my Mind
Okay, O' horned one. Given that in two pages of discussion on the Chinese Haikouella rand is insisting on making it yet another evolution is religion topic, I withdraw my suggestion that it be promoted. If it is, it's not going to be something I for one intend participating in.
Sorry for the bother.

IRH Beneficial Mutation Topic
I would like to see this promoted. My thread "Mutations Made Easy" appears to be completely bogged down. Even though the thermodynamics issues are marginally on-topic, I don't believe we're going to get to actual beneficial mutations, etc, any time soon. There's sufficient complimentary information that we can support both threads, IMO.

Moose: Promoting the Hindu thread
Moose, I think you are over the top on the quibbling in this particular PNT. Yes, we all know the topic is likely to be a complete joke, and die an (un)timely death. However, that is selection in action, n'est-ce pas?
I guess what prompted this was your reliance on an anonymous email from a member to deny/delay promotion. That isn't how a discussion board is supposed to work. If an individual has evidence that provides a counter to an OP, then it should be presented within the context of the discussion. Not, as it appears in this case, from behind the curtain.
Promote the bloody topic and let it be crucified or ignored as it deserves.

Kuresu - Pheonix Ecosystems
I would appreciate consideration of Kuresu's thread "Pheonix, "designer ecosystems", and new selection pressures". Although probably of limited interest to the general readership, I think it might be an interesting topic. Did it simply fall through the cracks due to the recent spate of new topic proposals, or was there something in particular about the PNT that didn't make it through the screening process?
Muchas gracias.

Right. I was just being consistent.
Thanks for the quick work. You're a prince - and I don't care what jar's been saying about you.

Re: Attn RAZD: Re: Your mega-PNT in progress
Hi RAZD,
I agree with the Moose. It's an absolutely brilliant piece of work, and deserves more to be placed in Columnists' Corner rather than a standard Geology and the Great Flud topic. I'm afraid it's simply too long and too complex (IMO) to generate much in the way of actual debate - you've pulled a Darwin with the amount of evidence you've presented. It is HIGHLY unlikely that any creo here will seek to dispute it. In addition, placing it in the Columnists's Corner will let it be easily visible forever, rather than all that effort being wasted in a topic buried under a ton of less, shall we say, "well-researched" topics?
