Cool. Sounds like the right thing to do.
Like I said before, you might want to keep some "legacy" code in there, such that if you actually see a "page number" in the URL, you translate it based on your old assumptions. You could also set it up to email you (for exmple to email you the referring URL, so you can see where you might have missed an old link) when you see that "page number" variable. Just a suggestion.

Hi Lindum,
I wonder if there might be some confusion:
Whatever I set the order to in my profile, the All Topics list always displays as reverse chrono (ie newest at the bottom). Reverse chrono puts the newest at the top, not the bottom. If you want newest at the top, set the Thread Display Order in your profile to Reverse Chronological. It is currently set to Chronological, which would put the newest threads at the bottom. The member list issues are on my list, but Internal Server Errors means it's something simple, so I'll probably get to this very soon. Thanks for noticing the forum glossary - I'm actually still working on it, though not at present while I address the bugs. About this:
No one below director status can do any of the message management tasks that we use to be able to do such as changing thread titles. Thread titles can now be changed by editing msg 1. Thread originators now have the power to modify their own titles.

Hi Percy,
Of course, you are right! I've had too much to drink over the past few days... However, I now have things how I want them (ie newest at the top in thread list and the threads themselves), with Message Display set to Chrono and Thread Display set to Reverse Chrono. I'm slightly confused but not concerned since it all seems to work how I want it! Cheers.

Ok Percy, there is a problem with using the [msg=..,..,..] format. Again I tried to use it in reply to a message Buz had in "A problem with new software" thread. It changed the name of the thread to the thread I was referencing, "Earthquakes And End Time Biblical Prophecy " Thre are now two threads with this name, the original one in B:A&I and one in Suggestions.
the same issue happened earlier when I tried to reference a therad to umliak. His topic in BB&C is now a replica of his B:A&I thread "Proof and analysis of Biblical end time accuracey" I have closed the replica threads for the time being until we can get this sorted out. I suggest that noone use that old format for now either.

Is our original archive for PNTs still open? There is no button to archive a topic, but you can move it to an archive called "Topic Proposals" and there is only the one topic I moved in there. It also shows up in the topics index.

I have just changed the archive forum "Topic Proposals" to be "Topic Proposals Archive".
Offhand, I sure like the old archiving system better. Adminnemooseus

Testing that reference to another thread using the msg dbcode doesn't destroy this thread. Backing this thread up first...
This should be a link to message 17 of the "Earthquakes And End Time Biblical Prophecy" thread in the Suggestions and Questions forum:

Note that thread still ends with message 10 of 21.

2 more from this morning:
1. If you click "forgot your password" when you're NOT logged in, you get a 500 error. NOT HELPFUL! 2. If you click on a URL with a bookmark from an email, but are not logged in, you are given the login screen. If you then login, you are forwarded to the original URL--but SANS the bookmark. So you're brought to the top of the page, instead of the proper message. Ben

Ben writes: Notes:Apparently the paging was not calculated based on my settings, but some other settings (hardcoded?) Your surmise is correct, it was based upon the board's settings instead of the user's for the search page. User's settings now take precedence.

As far as I can tell, ALL links (both those on the sidebar as well as those in the text) are completely outdated in the FAQ page.

Profiles work with dBCodes, but not with HTML. I inserted an img tag () and now all i've got is the closing tag and the text afterwards.
I didn't test to see what happens with other tags. Maybe it's just IMG. Ben
