Google recently indexed EvC Forum, so you can now use Google to find messages here in the new dBoard format. Google indexes EvC Forum every couple weeks or so and works fine as long as you're not looking for something recent. Regarding EvC Forum's native search facility that has become slow and unreliable with the size of the rapidly increasing message database, I've discovered ways to speed it up by a fair degree. For example, searches in the Biological Evolution forum that now take around 60 seconds will take less than 10. Searches of forums by category or entire-board searches will also take much less time. The native search facility is often much more useful than Google because it includes even the most recent messages, and it returns searches ordered by date and listed by message. I hope to release improved searching this or next weekend.

Email Notification
This worked fine for me. I've restored your email address to its original setting, perhaps it will begin working now. Email addresses are kept in a separate database for rapid lookup, and it is possible yours was lost. Let me know if you're still getting no notification, there are additional things I can check.

Improved Search Facility
Improved searching of threads has just been released. Searches of single forums should now be fairly fast, a few seconds at most. Searches of multiple forums should be about 50% faster. I'll be rebuilding the search database over the next hour, so searches may appear to be slow during this period.

Change to "Reply To" Link Position and Presentation
You'll notice that the link and information about the message that a message is a reply to has moved from beneath the message text to the upper right of the message header. I tried to find the best format, but comments and suggestions are very welcome.

Formats like this are easy to change, *and* they're very visible, so I'd like to get this right. Let me know how you like the latest change.

I have investigated your email notification problem in greater detail and can report the following:
- No email addresses using the netscape.net domain can be sent email.
- When the software attempts to send email to someone with a netscape.net address, the software times out after 80 seconds and no message is sent.
- Our webhosting company has been notified of the problem.
Have you been using the netscape.net address for very long? Do you have another email address that you could use, perhaps one with an autoforward to your netscape account so that you're not inconvenienced?
