Re: Stick to the topic
And the connection of this to science is?

Sure, I was just curious why Creationist are the only ones defending here
You wonder why people who believe in a faith-driven flood are having to defend that belief in a thread about science in a forum about science?
No I don't fear Thor's future judgement.

Re: ...
hmmm... yes you were very understanding in your first post back to me.
and for the record, when it comes down to it? If I ever mock you it will be for your exibited stupidity, displayed lack of logic, evident irrational thought process and spectacularly total and complete lack of support for your position, not for your faith.
Enjoy.

Because many Christians don't believe the flood ever happened either. See, all the evidence says there has not been a world-wide flood, at least in the last 600,000 years. No flood, no ARK.
Simple.
I know, what is the real reason you don't want to believe in the flood? Is it because your scared of the possibility of God's future judgement(revelation).
Of course not. Whether or not the Flood ever happened or there was an Ark has nothing to do with any future judgement.

Re: ...
CF,
Maintain composure. You were told it would be like this; even that you might be even killed by someone who thinks he does God service. Are you surprised? This forum is basically an online support group for people who have a terrible time trying believe that there is no God. It's a very difficult thing to do and requires MUCH group therapy because the evidence for a Creator is too ovewhelming.

Re: Noah's Ark Answers solved (just joking)
"Carnivores have been observed eating plant material in little bits for some specific reasons, but not making a full diet of it for extended periods of time. ANd for the length of time that the ark was afloat? yes I do. ANd you still have not answered the problem of the fresh kept separate from the sewage.
Oh gee -- that is the topic?"
That still shows that the possibility is there, and they didn't have to eat only plants, it's just easier to store then meat.
I didn't see the water question before, but I'll answer it now. the tanks for drinking wouldn't be near the sewage for contamination purposes. As I said further back, Noah must of had some way to clear animal stuff from the ark quickly, God wouldn't want a ship full of disease holding the future of Earth itself.

and you don't see that groundless assertion to be full of unsupported arrogance?
first off, no one here is attacking your faith. you with your faith are attacking science, and I and other rational people are defending it.
I don't "believe" in the flood because there is absolutely NO evidence for it other than as a minor flood that got caught up in the early mythology of all the cultures from that area of the world and 'deified' into a greater flood than ever occured in the 4.5 billion year history of the planet.
scared? hardly. amused by people that cannot see the reality is more like it. grown people are not scared by boogeymen and fairy tales eh?

Believing
I know, what is the real reason you don't want to believe in the flood?
This is another good topic proposal. In faith and belief I guess.
A short answer:
I try to avoid "beliveing" in things at any time. It has been shown to my satisfaction that it leads to errors (even very dangerous errors). I do my best to accept things with varying degrees of skepticism and demands for evidence whatever it is.
The flood as described by every supporter of it who has dropped in here does not explain the available formation of the earth and life on it. It is, to my complete satisfaction utterly wrong. Again, I invite anyone who disagrees to take up the evidence and reasoning and show what is wrong with it. The fossil sorting thread here is a good one and the correlations threads in Dates and Dating need to be tackled too.
Remember that it was literal Bible believers who first realized that the flood story was wrong and we have had 2 centuries of further work. If you now wish to suport the flood story you have a LOT of catching up to do.

It sure does, God promised He'd never send another global flood to judge the whole world. His final judgement will be by fire.

Re: ...
The problem with ANY debate is that ANY intelligent person can debate EITHER side of ANY issue. We learned how to do that before we made it to kindgergarten. There are only two CLEAR options (even though the evolution gang tries to muddy the water): Either everything was made by an intelligent designer, or EVERYTHING made itself. If you don't want to believe in and obey a GOD, then you have only one other choice. And that choice enslaves you to forever pursue the origin of EVERYTHING. The sad part is that the evolution crowd needs more faith to believe in evolution that ANYBODY needs to belive in God.

I've been trying very hard to keep your little protege on topic here. You are not helping any. I'm closing this thread and any new discussion of any of the various topics being thrown around here tonight can be taken to new threads.
