Re: Yourself
Your on the right track. The proof is your own personal opinion.
That's the best we can do anyway, since anything supernatural can be explained away, either by chance, (which might not even exist) or "placebo effect".
All behaviors, and the reactions that follow.
How do we know?
Read the bible, and then make comparisons to real life, you'll figure it out on your own. "If" God is real, you'll find him.

Isn't that obvious?
You missed the point then.
And another thing....take your eyes off Christ and you are lost.
What if you don't know Christ yet?

Re: Yourself
The proof is your own personal opinion.
Actually, no it isn't. Personal opinion is personal opinion. Proof is proof, verfiable independent of the perceptions of any one individual.
You are also correct that everything "supernatural" can be explained away. So, why do you believe in this "supernatural" nonesense?
Read the bible, and then make comparisons to real life, you'll figure it out on your own. "If" God is real, you'll find him.
Excellent! I had no idea it was so simple. I have read the Bible several times. I still see belief in any deity as self deception, so I think it safe to say that I did not find the "god" you refer. So, by your logic we may safely infer that the god in the Bible does not exist.

Re: Yourself
I recently glanced at my bible again - besides be a rather dull read in need of a good edit, I too saw no evidence of God contained with-in. In fact the more I read it the more it all seems like a shaggy dog story.

Could you define Christ? Is Christ god?

Re: Yourself
I would have thought that the Bible would be the centerpiece of any definition of god by Christians. Not so, there have been some attempts, but nothing real.

By my own personal opinion, I cannot explain away things that I see, feel, and happen to me. Not to mention that the bible is 100% correct (especially the new testament).
By what I say, does that prove that God exist? No
By what you say, does it prove that God doesn't exist? No

And you are how old?
And your upbringing?
And you studied the bible where?

What does this have to do with mikehagar coming to a conclusion after applying the same logic that you YOURSELF used? I do not see where age matters. Obviously he (mike) has made many posts on this forum, and as far as I know age has never been a concern. What does his upbringing have to do with it? This has the looks of some kind of pre-emptive ad hominem. As far as his biblical background, that seems like an argument from authority is about to be introduced. This line of questioning to me seems rather disingenuous.
But then again, this would not be the first time that I misinterpreted ones intentions.

Re: Yourself
'Son of God'
Back to the OP then.
So god is an entity that can have a son and be the son at the same time?

Strange, isn't it. It's like one of those things you might find in them 'hollers' in Caintuck or West'by god'Virginia. Where I can be my own grandpa.

You can't qualify an absolute.
