Charles Knight writes: Charles, are you suggesting that anyone who believes in "Demons" or that sort of supernatural realm is by definition mentally ill? Would you further suggest that anyone who believes in the supernatural at all is mentally ill? Why would Mike believe in Demons? He has never struck me as mentally ill. If one person sees a big purple rabbit, quite likely one person is mentally ill. If millions of people claim to know a God that is invisible to you, are they mentally ill or are you perhaps missing something? Just a thought.

I tend to make my judgement call on what group people fall into by my interaction with them. Charles, what do you think makes pieces on a Oujia board move? Witches are real. In fact Anoka County in my very own state is the Wiccan capital of the world. Seances? The spiritual realm isn't just some fantasy that we can excuse for a delusion, we've just been desensitized by media that portrays spiritual evils as playful and harmless. (Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Harry Potter, etc..) Demons do exist without a doubt but obviously since they are invisible we can't comprehend them with eyes that only can see the visible. The scary thing is when a person opens up doors to the demonic world, it becomes tangible. This message has been edited by daaaaaBEAR, 02-13-2005 14:57 AM

Can you Disprove my theory that Satan raised Lazarus while wearing a bedsheet and going "WOOOOOOOOOO! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!" First of all, what would be your rationale for this theory? You do admit to a spiritual realm unless you're joking which you probably are, and if that's the case I would use a better example. I would ask that you to consider the signs of the spiritual realm: witches, voodoo dolls, seances, curses, miracles, idol worship, supernatural healings, child sacrifice, prayer, Satan worship.

Hi daaaaaBEAR,
I still think my question important to answer before considering your question about whether we can disprove demons. You're operating under the assumption that you have reasonable grounds for accepting the existence of demons, and Charles is posing rhetorical questions intended to get you to question those grounds. Your responses make clear that you believe you have far better grounds for accepting demons than Charles does for believing in a besheeted Satan raising Lazarus while going WOOOOO WOOOOO, but until you and Charles understand those grounds you're just going to go back and forth like this. I think Charles probably believes you accept demons on faith and not by evidence, and that all faith-based beliefs with no evidence have an equal possibility of being true. --Percy

No, I am not. I say they have simple choosen to not believe, or deny the existance of God. Could you please say what your god is in your own words. If you can't define it it dosen't exist.

Well since you didn't even reconize the quotes I put are from the bible, then I have to say you really didn't comprehend it. Did you not find God, or did you choose not to find God? If god is omnipresent, why do I have to look? What am I looking for? You se RR when someone talks about a bird we can all agree on a definition, but with god no two people seem to agree on what we are talking about.

what do you think makes pieces on a Oujia board move? Either the other person messing with you or self delusion. "Witch" in christian myth means someone who has friendly traffic with demons or the devil to recieve temporal power, generally in exchange for their souls. Wicca is a whole other mythology. The two are not even remotely the same. You talk about demons and other such things as if belief in them is both reasonable and commonly accepted. It is neither. Finally, your claim that a thing should be believed because it cannot be disproved is ridiculous, but others have pointed that out quite effectively.

I'm out of this one, it's going no where, even Jesus walked away from the lame. Comparing oneself to Jesus? Thought Jesus healed the lame.
