"Matt", an engineer (aren't they all...) shows up, posts a bunch of bilge, gets spanked, leaves... A fewe days later, "bart007" shows up, posting his refutations of abiogenesis, etc. Whats next, Cool Hand Luke?

^ Aussies represent about 2% of the western world in terms of contributions to science and technology literature and application. Are we over represented here? Maybe Percy can tell us for those who have revealed their country of posting. One in 50 papers you read should have primarily Aussie authors. We are early starters in things like communicaitons and the internet so that may also be the reason. We're a very secular country so we might have more anti-creationists than average too (?). This site feels a lot like a competitive sport so that could also explain it too . [This message has been edited by Tranquility Base, 09-17-2002]

South Africa is not really well represented on these types of forums. First time I've ever seen anyone else from SA. Just my luck that they are creationists. ------------------ compmage

There is a pretty strong Creationist contingent in Australia; probably the only significant group outside of the US (not counting certain militant Muslim groups)

Schraf, "strong" is a relative term. I think I saw somewhere that 10% of Americans were creationists. I suspect the figure in Australia would be significantly less, probably less than 3%. And this will decrease even further if we can keep exporting the Ken, Hams, Andrew Snellings etc. to their philosophical motherland, the US.
