I cannot believe this. That anything of pseudo-science and clearly based of "religious" belief would make their way into scienc classrooms as science.
What a shame.

BECUASE HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO SAY THIS RELIGION HAS NO PLACE IN SCHOOL.
AND EVERY TIME YOU MENTION THE DANG HIGHER POWER, YOU ARE MENTIONING A POWER GREATER THAN HUMANS, WHICH WOULD BE WHAT? GOD? EXACTLY. AND SCIENCE DOES NOT CONCERN ITSELF WITH FINDING OUT WHETHER GOD EXISTS OR DOES NOT EXIST.
Okay, better now. "I disagree and so does about half of the US.", WHERE DOES THIS QUOTE COME FROM? Is it a fact gleaned from one of those religionists magazines? Hmmmm. Think twice on this before beliving this statement is credible.

Tranquility Base,
Sorry it has taken this long to reply, I have been so busy and have just a few minutes.
First off, it is not the matter of asking a question of whether we are brainwashing the kids or not, what the question is, is what we are teaching based on sceintific principles within the domain of questions that science best answers.
And, I do remember reading Nos482 reply to this message. If we are going to get creationism in, then we need to teach all the creation myths as well. Oh My Gawd, TEACHING MYTHS IN A SCIENCE CLASS, what the heck has science come to, when we get to that point. I fervently hope that things will not get that bad.
"And over half of the US believes that God had something to do with creation. And over half believe that evolution may not be true."
And would you know that "believers and the Church" believed that the planents and sun revolved around the earth, and it was only a few who believed opposite? Could this be a lesson. And besides, everybody believes in gravity, the laws of conservation of mass and matter. Why? Becuase it is true based off evidence. You cannot prove myths. I am not saying that did not happen, it could have, but science concerns itself with what we are debating. And anything outside of science's concern, then is outside and has not merit in the eyes of science.

Well, well, well,
If you would actually think about your arguments and things, and honestly try to consider what we are saying instead of spouting something that you have learned and may not necessarily believe. Then maybe I will quit shouting.
But, these points have been made over and over and over again not just by me but by others in the forum. And, I am getting tired of typing the reply to your points over and over and over again.
So, yes I was quite a little frustrated when I say the point being made by T.B. which has been dealt with over and over and over and over again.
Get the point???????????? Get's tiring.

Nos482,
I sure do. It is quite entertaining how stubborn some people can be. Wonder what more amusement lies in the dark places of this forum. Guess, I will have to go and find out.
Nice post, in reply to T.B. message that was a reply to my message number 16.

T.B.
"I listed the survey results to tell you why this is happening in the US. People who vote for boards are the same people who fill out belief surveys"
What kind of impartial study is this? What is your definition of impartial. Of course you ask the "believers" you leave out a substantial porportion of the U.S. This survey is not credible.
And in regards to your statements that were not mathematically accurate, I would be ashamed. Any standard book that is high school level in probablity or statistics might be helpful. And then, while you are at it, you might want to pick up some books on the fine points of debating and also survey conducting.
Crikes, nice use of words, when we corner you, you just come up with something more ridiculous than your last point. I am not even going to waste my time, in replying to your last point becuase you are failing to get the point - CREATIONISM IS IN THE RELIGIOUS MAGESTERIUM, do not ever mix these two, esp. when we are just interested in how the world began, and screw who did it!!!!!. If someone did it. Becuase if they did, well then they should have done a better job of leaving good evidence behind. What a wonderful "Creator" that we have, who has left nothing behind.
"What kind of God do you serve"?

Well T.B. has not said anything to your post or the last post before it. That is wonderful, or is she asking the little blue fairies for some more of the "scientific" inspiration?

Nos482,
Well, then I will not give up the debate. Thank goodness, I have a cut and paste button, if something needs to be typed again and again. LOL.
Where they get those kind of points that you made, which are typical of creationists', I do not see the logic. My guess, is there is none.

T.B.
Have not read nos482's reply to your letter. But the frequency with which you miss critical points, I shall say them at the expense of repeating old material.
If it is a fact, you are not brainwashing them. And what is fact? It is a statement that is backed up by evidence.
You sure have, heck, if we teach that life came from a
"created" stage, then what do we tell the little kiddies when they ask "Who created the earth and us?" I am so sure, you would not like it if we told them it was anyone but what you believe, God. Heck, we have to teach the rest of the creation myths, so no religions or anybody will feel left out. And then science becomes less of a disciplined field that it is and becomes something to be used at the hands of some "fanatics".
As to your second and third statements. I will not argue with you. You are a great Christian who we all want to emulate, esp. with her regard and concern with living up to the passage of Judge not, or else you will be judged with the same standards. [NOT A DIRECT QUOTATION, but if anyone wants to call me down on the carpet, I can find the quotation for you.] Well, if we are wrong, go ahead and save us all a nice cozy spot by the fire in Hell, and make sure there are plenty of smores when I get down there.
See ya.

T.B.,
Sure let's take the limitations of science as we now know it, and say it points to creation, becuase we do not know everything about it. Heck, it must point to creation or else we would know about it now?
How illogical is that?
In my opnion, creationism should not be taught as mainstream science. I have gone over and over this belief or pereference. Take either word, fine with me. I am sure others have agreed with my viewpoints. If the kiddies want to believe that they a "Creator" created them, then they should go and research that on their own personal time. No need to waste time spent in intelligent and accepted forms and proofs of science, mathematics, or anything. This would include theories that are backed up with considerable evidence, evolution.
