The "Posts of the Month" forum index page.
These topics listed at the above page are still available for additions.
-----
Now for March, 2005 (as per previous months):
quote:
Please post your votes for the March, 2005, Post of the Month here. Include author, forum name, thread name, post number, eg:
Name: Velvet Tongue
Forum: Biological Evolution
Thread: I'm no monkey
Post #: 17
A link to the message, and perhap a SHORT comment would also be nice. But, this is NOT a place to debate the referenced topic - so be nice.
I think that a fairly liberal use of this topic would be a good thing for indexing some nice messages that are otherwise doomed to be lost in the clutter. So, if you encounter a message that seems to say something of special substance, please give it a plug/reference in this topic.
New month, same old message and routine,

Once again, Holmes provides eloquent and stiring defence of the importance of freedom (and, in particular, sexual freedom) and the double standards that we bring to it and our impressions of it in other countries.
Holmes On Sex - it should be a book.

Well, I was going to nominate myself, but well you knowactually I thought Percy did a darn good job at describing why it is that very few if any creationists are nominated for POTW.

February messages getting March POTM nominations
Since you made your reply to my message 1, I'll return the favor.
Not at all fatal flaws, but I do note that all March POTM's so far were for February messages. Ideally they should have gone into the February 2005 topic.
But good enough - at least messages are getting nominated.
One touch that I like doing (in the non-admin mode) is to get the nominees name and some info about the message theme (ie topic name) into the POTM message subtitle. Then this info is available in the various message indexes.
Please, no replies to this message.

Thank you mr Jack... and maybe to Dan.
Holmes On Sex - it should be a book.
I tell ya, the movie could be a lot more interesting!

Bill doesn't just destroy an argument, he reduces it to its individual component atoms, and then turns that into plasma.

Re: Bill B. (again)
Not to take away from Bill's efforts, but I think we are getting into deja vu territory here. Bill's dropped this (more or less) same bomb before (and got at least one earlier POTM for it also). He has several simular messages upthread, in the same topic.
But perhaps I'm violating the intent of this forum, by bringing this up. I guess I'll call it "director priviledge".

Jar's honesty

Message #9
Whilst there is nothing new to me here, it is nice to see a theist surmise their position in such a way that an atheist, like me, can only respect. Indeed, Jar is wise; the lack of Gnosticism is ironically (read the rest of the thread) refreshing!
edit: can someone fix the link? I'm too drunk to try myself!

Problem: Message 9 is not from Jar
Message #9
I fixed the link to message 9, and then in testing the fix discovered message 9 is not from Jar. So I discarded the fix.
You need to get back there, and determine which message you were citing. Jar has several at the topic.

The simplest arrangement is always the best. Complex systems for simple tasks are frowned upon, and often labelled ad hoc. However, ad hoc systems are EXACTLY what a process such as evolution would create.
