I've also seen people who object to evolution or agree with ID described by words such as bigots, morons, and fringe nutcases.
A stereotype is a blanket view of a group based on observation of a few. In this case, I don't think we can call this stereotyping when referring to creos. Just search the boards. You have any idea how many creos have tried to discredit the theo of evo by the "if we evolved from monkeys then how come there are still monkey around?" question? Now, type in "second law" or "2nd law" in the search engine. I think it's safe to say that almost all creos that ever visited this site have tried to use this argument at one point or other.
Stereotype? I don't think so.

So you want to maintain that it's OK to call creos bigots, morons, and nutcases, and that this is not stereotyping?
Well, most creos are christian fundies and christian fundies ARE bigots.
Morons? I don't recall anyone ever calling creos morons. However, if you would like me to...
Nutcases? Well, some certainly are. Go search for posts by willowtree, riverrat, desdamona, etc. and see some samples of how some (may be more) are certainly nutcases, if not crackpots.
Actually, I haven't done that. But I've now been stereotyped as doing that just because I'm a creo.
I'm willing to bet 5 bucks that you haven't done that because you've seen how people have responded to such argument in the past. Furthermore, not that I'm accusing you of anything, but I have known creos that when talking to a science fluent person they refrain from saying much but when dealing with the typical church-going aunt they present every crackpot idea known to man. It's amazing how much you could learn by pretending to be a dummy.
I've been keeping track of your posts, mike. That's all I'm going to say.

And where do the laws of physics come from?
That is a philosophical question, which has nothing to do with science. But to be blunt, we don't know. And we are proud to admit that we don't know. Furthermore, we are willing to bet that you don't know either.
You are doing a pretty good job at dodging the issue. You made a claim about ID. As far as I know, science hasn't tried to offer any explanation about the origin of the laws of physics. There has been individuals who have tried to give out their opinions, but the scientific community remains neutral on such issue. Big difference. Since you've made a positive claim, I think you should follow through with it and answer the question.
