In the bible there are literally hundreds of prophecies, all made in Gods name. There are over 300 foretelling the coming of Jesus --in detail.
Yet in the Qur'an there is but one prophecy and this is in Sura 30:1-4. In this gem of a Sura we are told that the Roman empire has been defeated but that, "in a land close by" the Romans will be victorious again "in a few years". Think about this for a minute! The "prophet" Muhammad gave no signs, performed not one miracle and made but one, vague, prophecy that sometime in the next few years the 7th century Romans who were still quite strong militarily would have a victory. Earth shaking stuff, huh? Muhammad himself admitted he could do no miracles. In fact nowhere in the Qur'an does Muhammad perform even one miracle. So for Muslims to claim he performed miracles when the Qur'an itself states he did not is simply lies. Sura 17:90-93 of the Qur'an tells about how, when Muhammad was challenged to perform a miracle and prove he was from the true god, he could not perform any and here he actually says himself:"Am I anything except a human messenger?". In Sura 13:7, we find that Muhammad did not perform any miracles. The people are saying that even one sign would be enough to convince them, just one miracle performed by Muhammad - and yet he still does none.... The New Testament repeatedly declares that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (Yahweh), that He was crucified and resurrected to both pay for our sins and to make possible our salvation, but the Qur'an expressly denies all these things. The Qur'an says Jesus was not crucified. (Surah 4:157-158). The Qur'an teaches that those who believe in the Blessed Trinity are dung. If you accept Islam, you forever reject Jesus. It is a decision that will effect where you spend eternity. So, because a single lying, murderer, rapist, plunderer and thief (Muhammad) who did everything for his personal gain --walked on this earth - billions of souls (Muslims) are forever lost to you Yahweh. Why was it allowed? Read: http://bibleprobe.com/muhammed.htm

Why was Muhammad Permitted? Answer: Cause he's right and the New Testament is wrong. though you're probably just a troll who won't read this. This message has been edited by DrJones*, 03-31-2005 06:23 PM *not an actual doctor

quote: If the definition of prophecy is "general, ambiguously written phrases that can have several interpretations, and may or may not have been written after the event allegedly phrophesied", then this quote is true. If, on the other hand, the definition of prophecy is, "a clear, direct statement that predicts a definite future event that does, in fact, occur," then BibleProbe's statement is false. But I don't think that the topic of this thread allows debate on this subject; BibleProbe is inivited to start a thread explaining in detail what he conisiders to be a good, clear prophecy in the Bible.

I would say,
Lord in heaven, thank you for all that you have done for me, and giving me life. What do you want me to do?

Sorry, but I don't grasp the relevance of your question "who needs Jehovah?" Did you have something more specific you were trying to convey in response to my original answer to the OP?

I would ask: "Why would you choose acceptance of your existence/sacrifice/sovereignty as the deciding factor behind the salvation of your chosen created beings, and then hide from them?"
And then I would presumably go to hell / be annihilated / tortured forever / consumed / etc. by the evil deity.

I have lots but two big ones:
What in the Bible is actually true? And why do you allow evil to flourish if you are a kind and loving god?

I would ask what denomination of which (s)he is a member, or if not any at least a sympathizer.
ABE - However if Yahweh resembled Halle Selassie or Pantagruel, I may make it my second question. Edited by anglagard, : Some will know The idea of the sacred is quite simply one of the most conservative notions in any culture, because it seeks to turn other ideas - uncertainty, progress, change - into crimes. Salman Rushdie This rudderless world is not shaped by vague metaphysical forces. It is not God who kills the children. Not fate that butchers them or destiny that feeds them to the dogs. It’s us. Only us. - the character Rorschach in Watchmen
