A while back, I was thinking of suggesting that the "quote reply" button be done away with. It's drawbacks seem to far outweight it's merits.
If one still truly feels the need to quote the entire message, one can still copy and paste, and use the UBB quote code.

Added by edit: Someone elsewhere has pointed out to me, the the above link is also available to the left of the message creation window (see the"*UBB Code is ON"). This link, however, is not active, when one is using the message edit window. Maybe the big Admin will see this note, and do something about that. Also note the "Smilies Legend" there.
