Re: Do you really know me?
quote:
I must say, I felt sad when I was made fun of for having a different viewpoint. For showing some depth. To want to believe in something as real as it is beautiful, where you're not let down by your peers or in the end
You believe what you want - it's nothing to do with the rest of us.
quote:
I do not adhere to science, I do not adhere to the evidence. Christians who are hoping I will change, I'll let you down. There is no place for logic in the discussion of God. I learned today though. In That you aren't allowed to use a word with many meanings until you are instructed how to use it by another man, with another philosophy, that you know about math. I can't believe God can be defined by a textbook or by man.
If you don't believe in Science or evidence - stick to the faith/belief folders. Don't wander into any of the science based ones.
quote:
I see people here and it's a tragedy. They can't see the spirit in their life in their world, in their experience. In their experiences. I see ppl that accept coincidence and submit to society's rules. They need something to get at, they gripe at a system that adheres to a God, but they accept a place, a place in where they are 1 in 6 billion living a life with an occupation, with a place, a life limited experience. And it is accepted. And they complain about old men and young children who believe in something more ignorant than what they believe.
quote:
What is ignorance? Anything that doesn't follow your precious human evidence? This isn't racism. This can't be reasoned with. Righteous men have become from the Bible. Atheists denial of the only thing thats real in this entire earth of nothing amazes me. People criticize or demean those that don't adhere directly to the evidence are prejudice like racists.
Rant - partly nonsense - nothing to discuss here.
quote:
I would like to apologize to all atheists because a christian could be guilty of this. I hope you accept my apology from my discriminating remark. They crucify anyone and anything that doesn't agree with this evidence. This nothingness that has been given value. I'll side with the ignorant. I won't agree with you. How dare you define what's real. What is ignorant? What is worth believing in? You have no idea.
more onarism (sp?) - nothing to discuss.
The rest was so boring that I just couldn't be bothered to read it.
Is there a point to this ramble?

Re: Do you really know me?
Well we don't want your communion - I'm sorry if that sounds rude but why mince words?
Can't you follow the advice of Jesus?
quote:
Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
I'm cannot think of a clear way to frame this but it seems to me that christians are struggling with changes in society that means that their ideas are awarded no special merit and have to compete with all the other religions for airtime.

Re: Do you really know me?
Let's get down to brass tacks - you seem to suffering from what is commonly called "teenager angst". I used to see it all the time when a) I was a teenager and b) when I was a teacher.
It's nice and all but don't be surprised if the rest of us don't find it profound or that interesting*.
* yes and we all think as teenagers that people don't "understand".

Re: Do you really know me?
No,no I think the problem is that you are very arrogant (Only I understand!). I'd like to think that come from the usual teen crap rather than some ingrained personaility problem.
I'm positive like that.

maybe I wasn't wrong in calling you an idiot.
Bit rich that isn't it? Considering you've misquoted him and got what he said totally wrong.
Maybe we should start calling you an idiot? Would that be fair behaviour?

What topic?
What topic? Have you read the opening post? Who are we suppose to discuss this topic with? Chris has left the building and wasn't very pleased that this topic was editted and moved here by AdminPhat*
* Who was acting out of the best intentions - but let's be honest it was a shitty move to promote this topic and by-pass your own procedures. You can't keep holding creationists to lower standards that the rest of us.
