The may, 2005 issue of "Geology"contains a new paper, which discusses the upright / polystrate fossil trees exposed in the sea cliffs at Joggins, Nova Scotia. It is:
John W. F. Waldron and Michael C. Rygel, 2005,
Role of evaporite withdrawal in the preservation
of a unique coal-bearing succession: Pennsylvanian
Joggins Formation, Nova Scotia. Geology.vol. 33,
no. 5, pp. 337-340. doi: 10.1130/G21302.1
This paper is mentioned in the Monday, April 25, 2005 Palaeoblog in Joggins Fossil Forests.
Links to this Geological Society of America paper are:
1. Article abstract.
2. Issue TOC
and also go see "May Media Highlights: Geology" at:

Abstracts of Additional Talks About joggins can be found in "SS13: 'Coal age Galapagos': Research on the road to World Heritage nomination of Joggins" in 'Coal age Galapagos'
There are a number of publications about the Joggins, Nova Scotia, outcrops and the fossils forests, which they contain, still in press and in review as can be seen in the list of peer-reveiwed publications at http://myweb.dal.ca/mrygel/peerreviewedpubs.htm .
Yours,
Bill
