I would not like to see this thread spiral out of control. I congratulate the participants for keeping discussion within reasonable limits to this point, but I can sense the frustration level rising.
Please keep the focus on the issues under discussion, support your arguments with evidence and/or reasoned discussion, and avoid personalizing the debate. The topic is the veracity of the apostles, not the personal foibles of the participants. Please be tolerant, even of intolerant attitudes.

Nos482,
Could we please request that you participate more constructively. Please try to rise above your suspicions that others aren't dealing forthrightly with your posts to nonetheless treat others with respect.
Board resources are also deserving of respect. Quoting two entire messages for a one word reply is wasteful. If you'd like to pay the bills then, by all means, waste away, but until then more care would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

You're frustrated with them, they're frustrated with you. They're convinced they're debating faithfully, as are you. These situations are why the streets of our cities are not mobbed with unemployed discussion board moderators.
Most people have to find their own way out of these difference-of-opinion circumstances, but sometimes a little advice helps, so if this helps, fine, if not, it didn't cost me anything to give it.
It is the nature of this medium for discussion to become heated. It is frequently nobody's fault but more a result of conflicting styles.
Adding to the problem is that persuasion is usually a very slow process. Where deeply held beliefs are concerned people don't usually change their minds, and even those who do don't often become convinced after seeing an argument once. It takes many presentations of the argument in many forms by many people over long time periods.
Even in matters of fact debate can be long and loud, and even someone who has been shown wrong is often unlikely to concede since human pride takes over and it's easier and less humbling to obfuscate.
But it is the judgment of this flawed moderator that you are too quick to jump to the conclusion that someone is yanking your chain. Persuasion by message board is not a quick process, and more patience will probably bring you better and more satisfying results.
