Often times I wonder whether it is hurtful phsychologically for someone to beleive in god or to have a structured belief system off of god. I have also heard that in some cases creationism creates stability in unstable minds thus being helpful. My question is what effects does holding views of creationism have on the mind.

Topic rejected. If there was some specific proposal you would like to float, then perhaps it could be a topic; but I still don't like it. Any more concrete topic would have to come with a strong warning that we have a guideline about respect for others. My advice is forget this line altogether.
The proposal as it stands is basically an open invitation to bring up a lot of ad hominem and distractions from the primary subject of this forum, which is the actual substance of evolution creationism discussion.
Welcome to EvCforum, by the way. But let's try for something that actually engages the subject matter, rather than invite pejorative speculations about the people who hold views we do not share. I suggest engaging some existing topics as a way of getting a feel for how the forum works.
