And those who think nothing of themselves will never accomplish anything.
Negative thoughts = negative results.
Positive thoughts = positive results.

Re: Left v. Right B*ll Sh*t
What, precisely, is so dumb about supporting your country while it is at war? When our way of life is threatened, & it truly is, why would exercising your right to dissent & free speech to voice that dissent be the proper choice of a good citizen of any country? Your country is need of your support & your help, not your complaining & your criticism. When you do that, the ENEMY is encouraged. What don't you get about that? While you have every right in this nation to do it, I'm saying you should choose not to exercise that right at this time. If you cannot support the war effort, if you do not agree with the actions of the military & the President, fine, disagree, in private. But in public, we must, as Americans, stick together until the fighting has ceased & we have prevailed. When public statements contrary to the mission are made, the enemy is emboldened, the war is prolonged, more soldiers die on both sides. It's counter to our best interests. Surely you know all of this, don't you? This is basic stuff. Your rights to free speech & freedom of expression are not more important than the lives of our soldiers, are they? Every time liberals open their mouths & criticize their country, they encourage the enemy, which results in the deaths of more Americans. You are in effect killing your fellow Americans every time you publicly denigrate this country. You don't do that if you care about your country & you care about its troops. Now, I repeat the question I started this post with, what's so dumb about supporting your country while it's at war???????

Re: Left v. Right B*ll Sh*t
Boy, you are so wrong about the character of Americans. We are unique among the world's populations. What other nation on Earth says to its government, "Here take my tax dollars, raise a military to defend our freedom & while you're at it, defend democracy across the globe & we'll foot the bill for that, too. Whenever there's a natural disaster, send assistance immediately, even if the nation in need is our sworn enemy. Do not ever invade another land for the purpose of taking it over to steal its resources. Do so only to rescue its people or protect & restore it to its rightful citizenry."
HOw many aggressors have we repelled over the decades, then given the nations back to their people? What other nation on Earth does that? We have paid the bill for it all, too. You're dead wrong about who we are as a nation. You need to go back to school & study.

Rubbish, rubbish & more rubbish. Peddle this baloney to someone else. I'm not buying & I'm not retracting one word.

Re: Ah, so he's one of those!
You are obviously very young. We didn't need home schooling when I went to school, liberals hadn't destroyed the school system yet. As for my education, (why do liberals always try to attack conservatives on intellectual grounds, anyway?) I graduated summa cum laude with a BA in business administration, minor in accounting, my IQ is 157. Try another tactic, this one won't work.

Re: Ah, so he's one of those!
Well, fine then. Perhaps we can elevate this discussion to a more adult one. You inquired as to whether I might have been home-schooled, as if I'd led a sheltered life. Nothing could be farther from the truth, I assure you, & I am 49 years old, myself.

Re: Ah, so he's one of those!
Yes, Faith, you're absolutely right. What passes for education today is an outrage. What our children are receiving in the place of an education is indoctrination, revisionist history painting America as the bad guy. Of course, this is not going to succeed, this attempt to rewrite the story of America because there are too many of us who know the truth. And the truth always prevails in the end, it's too powerful.

Re: Opposing Terrorism
There are two things about opposing the methods being utilized to fight the war against terrorism, number one is obvious: the President of the United States, as Commander in Chief, has the responsibility, discretion & prerogatives to make decisions about how the war is conducted. He ran for the office & won the election. It's his call. Number two: your candidate, whomever that was, lost & the only way you can change the way this war is being conducted is to change Commanders-In-Chief. So you'll need to get someone elected to the office who either agrees with your position or run for the office yourself & get yourself elected. Either way, while we're fighting & our soldiers are dying, it would be the patriotic thing to do while in public at the very least keep the negativity to a minumum so as to avoid encouraging the terrorists. Don't you agree?

I apologize for insulting your intelligence. I find the positions put forth in the posts I've read by you to be somewhat perplexing. Perhaps it's my shortcoming in that I don't understand leftist dogma.

Re: Left v. Right B*ll Sh*t
Well, if that comes to pass, it will be a democratic decision voted on by the entire population of Iraq, not something imposed on them by a brutal dictator. If the citizens of Iraq vote to impose Sharia law on themselves & they ratify a Constitution that implements it, then so be it, the Iraqi people have spoken & there is nothing we have to say about it. It is their decision. That is called democracy.
