Sorry for being selfish, and a bad poster.
Sorry to Jar, Phatboy, MINNEMOOSE, and Percy. But to lighten the mood I thought I would send you all some of my music, I used no effects, just me and my 100$ epiphone SG, the worst guitar on the market almost... Heres the link, if you have any trouble post away. Also any feedback would be much appreciated, I am currently working on something that has puzzled me about the book of Exodus, but I'll post it some other time, thanks again guys. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=391024 A side note: I think that play where robinrohan says "Nip it in the bid" is hysterical.

Here's a suggestion:
1. Download Audacity, a free, easy-to-use multi-track mixer. 2. Buy another cable and adaptor so that you can plug your amp's headphone output to your microphone port. Should cost like $10 for the cable (same as the cable from guitar to amp), and like $1 for the adaptor (big->little adapter) 3. Record the rhythm guitar background track using audacity. 4. Playback the rhythm guitar background track on your computer, listening to it using headphones, while you play the lead guitar part. This is gonna allow you to mix the two tracks directly. Sounds like right now you're playing back the rhythm guitar track while you play the lead guitar part live, and then recording that whole thing using like an audio tape player. The poor recording quality definitely obscures the music quite a bit, in my opinion. These tools aren't too hard to use, and I can instruct you on how to do any of this, via email (feel free to email me privately about it). Anwyay. Thanks for sharing your music, that's cool. I enjoyed "New Day", that was solid. Lively was next, that was just "OK"--felt a bit "done" though. "Appear" I didn't like so much, and it wound up sounding a lot like "New Day" to me. By the way, I had to register at SoundClick just to listen to your music. That sucked. Aren't there better websites where you don't have to register in order to listen? Even MySpace allows you to post 4 songs and let people listen without registering. Anyway. A side-issue. Thanks again for posting those.Ben

Wierd, I didn't think you needed to register for it, someone said that, but said that they had figured it out, and didnt have to.
I actually have Audacity, but didn't use it. Does Audacity convert Wav. files to mp3 files? porteus@gmail.com

Audacity records in it's own format (not WAV). You can export as MP3, you can export as WAV... if you have existing WAV files, you can open them through Audacity and export as MP3 as well.
Ben AbE: In order to export MP3s, you have to download an external dll (lame_enc.dll). I have it, I can email it to you if you want. It was just a matter of googling the right dll name and downloading it. When you try to export as MP3 (File->Export as MP3), it will ask you for the DLL. You have the lead guitar down...the music sounds like it wants to bust out and go soaring! Whatever happened to the band? Are they history? I hope u have a great year at school...keep up the practice, Charlie!

Grip? This Grip?
Can I run it on Windows? Can I record and mix with it? Can you give me a link? Tell all, brotha Lam. I've had a good relationship with Audacity, but we're not "exclusive." I think she'd understand. Ben

I'm having a great deal of trouble converting my file on Audacity, that is nicely overdubbed, and sounds alot better, to an mp3 file. Right now I wish windows had GarageBand. But Please tell me how to export it as an mp3. When I try it says I need a file called "lame.enc", I tried to download it on Free Software Downloads and Reviews for Windows, Android, Mac, and iOS — CNET Download but it didnt work.
You know how to do it, get online and tell me, please! Thanks a lot. porteus@gmail.com

Haha...
I'm glad I wasn't around, so you could figure it out for yourself That's always better than asking for help. Are you sure it asked for lame.enc? Not lame.dll? Lame.dll you can download through a link at the Audacity website. I don't know about lame.enc. I'm glad to hear everything sounds better... I assume you posted the new song to the same website. I'll take a look when I get home; I'm looking forward to it. Ben P.S. I enjoyed the movie "SuperTroopers", and Farva was my favorite character. It's one of those movies where it really wasn't funny the first time... kind of funny the second time... REALLY funny the third time. But it's definitely not for everybody, especially for those who don't enjoy fairly vulgar humor. I promised myself when I signed up that I'd change my avatar every 100 posts. When I change it to show something that's not me, then I change my alias too. Call me Lam-lite.
