As Tal's signature is actually a reference to a study I proposed as evidence in the role of genetics in determining sexual orientation, I am particularly offended by his signature. I don't appreciate scientific evidence or my own comments being twisted and misrepresented in such a bigotted manner.
Tal's current sig in no way represents my comments on the study, nor the findings of the study itself. It seems doubtful to me that Tal has even read the study in question.

I feel the same way.
I'm not advocating the forcible removal of Tal's sig unless the Mods determine that it violates forum guidelines. That's their call to make, not mine.
All I'm doing is using the same right to free speach to express my displeasure and condemnation of Tal's dishonesty and foolishness.
It's not right for him to twist evidence provided into something it doesn't say. It's not fair to me to have my comments twisted in such a way, either. Whether it's against the rules or not, I am asking Tal to change his sig becuase I find it to be directly offensive to me.
Unless the Mods intervene, he has the right to deny that request.

Re: Sig Police
I'm not sure if it was your suggestion or not, but someone suggested if it is truly offensive, ignoring him could be effective.
Certainly it would be effective - but if I ignored everyone like Tal, I would miss out on the occasional interesting conversation.
Even those like Tal deserve to have their opinions voiced, and their arguments shown.
After all, it's fun to prove him (and others) wrong.
The only time I take offense is when a poster's argument is misrepresented - it's dishonest. Tal is doing more than that - he's twisting the evidence I provided and essentially claiming that I proposed his bigotted, ludicrous "gay-gene cattle prod" idea. I take offense at being associated with that sort of mental drivel, and I assume any other poster would be similarly agitated were he to do something similar to their posts.
