randman writes: One forecast that I heard precicted a season of 17 more hurricanes, five of which could hit the U.S. again. I can see how some might scoff at this and think it's vague, but for those with ears to hear, sometimes great things can come from terrible beginnings. The hurricane was as financially devestating as the tsumani in Asia, but the Tsunami covered a much bigger coastal area. I suppose in terms of lost lives, the tsunami was far worse. I do't know how much money that the insurance industry has, but much will be spent this year!

As if the tragedy wasn't bad enough apparently we have a racist media covering it.

Another example of {culture/society} crumbling under the devastating deluge of disastrous dis-planning, now in addition to general looting (beyond the needs for survival) we have: New Orleans evacuation suspended as shots fired (click)(click)(click)
The evacuation of Hurricane Katrina refugees from the Superdome in New Orleans was suspended today after shots were fired at a military helicopter, an ambulance official overseeing the operation said. No immediate injuries were reported. That’s not enough, Zeuschlag. We need a thousand. He said that shots were fired at a military helicopter over the Superdome before daybreak. He also said that during the night, when a medical evacuation helicopter tried to land at a hospital in the outlying town of Kenner, the pilot reported that 100 people were on the landing pad, and some of them had guns. He was frightened and would not land, Zeuschlag. He said medics were calling him and crying for help because they were so scared of people with guns at the Superdome. Frontier mentality? Enjoy? we are limited in our ability to understand by our ability to understand RebelAAmerican.Zen[Deist

One could argue that the liberals are at fault Right, since it was their homosexuality that caused the hurricane in the first place. In fact, if we could just find a way to ban freedom in the bedroom, we'd correct global warming entirely. Gotta love the conservative mindset - "Screw the data, screw the facts, science is always wrong, give me a check from the oil companies, where's my scapegoat".

A guy named Chuck Pierce. Don't know a lot about him, but friends in 3 different churches sometimes e-mail his e-newsletter. He is well-known in the circles that accept that sort of thing.

Nope, I haven't noticed that, but I have noticed a lot of people making false accusations about other people's motives.

I don't think you have a good understanding of the word "false".
Oral Roberts was held ransom by God. Either, God really needed the money, or Brother Oral was using his prophet status to increase his profit status

Well he certainly acted like one, claiming to converse directly with God on several occasions. If you google Oral Roberts and "prophet" you will get sites where people lay out the case for him being a "false prophet."
