Notice the weird symbols - no matter how many times I change it back to Western it changes to unicode. I've never experienced it before. I have adjusted a few settings and will see if that fixs the problem (i'll post the "fix" if it does).

Message number "missing"?
Not that it's causing any problems as such, but I noticed that the message numbers on the posts on this page jump from 171 to 173. There doesn't appear to be any post #172. At least, that's what I'm seeing.
Again, nothing serious. It was just something odd that I noticed and thought it might be a bug you'd like to check.

Re: Message number "missing"?
I think that means that message 172 was deleted, probably by its author.

Re: Message number "missing"?
Oh. I didn't think posts could be deleted this way. I thought all you could do was delete the content, but not the existence of the post itself.
Perhaps I was simply mistaken, although, now that I look, I see a "delete" button in the editing options, which is probably it. I can't say I've noticed that before. It may be a new function.
In any case, thanks for the reply, nwr.

Message Deletion Not Permitted

In the transition of the board to the dedicated server, the message deletion feature was accidentally enabled. It has been disabled again.

Ah, is that what it was? Ok, not a problem. Thanks for the answer, Percy.

Re: Frequently unavailable
I wonder if it's a name server problem. If you're on a PC, can you get into a cmd window and run nslookup? If so, try this:
nslookup
Unless you're behind a firewall (in which case a timeout is often the outcome), it should come back with the address 72.4.161.195.
Is anyone else having this problem?

I'm behind a fire wall. And, yes, it times out.
