I'm thinking this should slide on into "Is this science?"
I've recently, and repeatedly, had a few of my ideas flat out ridiculed by people who called them "ridiculous" and "idiotic". Perhaps these ideas aren't "scientific" but I personally feel that they stand up perfectly well by certain standards of YEC science.
I'd like to present a few of them here to see if anyone can disprove them. Also, if you have any ideas, I'll try to knock those down if you like.
1) Downward Pusher - Gravity is not a law. What we "believe" is gravity "attracting two objects with mass" is simply the downward force exherted upon us by the Intelligent Pusher. It is through his devine providence that we don't go spinning out into space.
2) Upside Down Evaporation - Many of the features of the Great Flood don't stand up against modern geology, however, this is because geologists are assuming that the waters of the Flood behave like water we see today on Earth. My assertion is that these waters actually evaporated from the bottom up - thus salt deposits could form underneith other layers, erosion could happen backwards, etc.
3) Random Species POP-ulation. New species randomly POP into existance. (usually with the audible sound). This accounts for why so many species that exist today don't exist in the past. It also allows for different species without macro-evolution.
Anyone wanna take a stab at these.
By the way, I know some of you think I'm being silly here, but I honestly KNOW these to be true, so good luck proving me wrong.
Also, I read these in a book.

Re: Are you serious?
Well, if I say I'm serious, you pretty much have to take me at my word.
My larger point is this - my arguments are just as valid as anyone elses. I'd like to see someone try to disprove them.

Re: POP goes the weasel?
Why don't we observe the popping now?
You are assuming uniformism. Your entire world view is nothing but assumptions built ontop of other assumptions.

Re: Divine Pusher
[qs]Can we know anything more about the pusher? Why does the pusher push? Does the pusher ever get bored and not push? Why does the pusher choose to ignore objects that are far, far away? And why does the pusher vary the amount of pushing as 1/r^2? Wouldn't 1/r be an easier calculation? Is the pusher some kind of math wiz?
Only through prayer can you truly "know" the pusher.
The pusher's choice to push is beyond your understanding. To question it pusher is to break one of the divine rules. (specially #7 Thou Shalt Not Question The Pusher)
The pusher never "bores" but the pusher does choose to not push some types of balloons. Also, he pushes less hard on birds and clouds.
The pusher doesn't ignore far away objects, he just focuses his pushing more on us, as we are his primary responsibility.
The pusher doesn't bother with math or equations. In fact, to try and quantify the pusher is also a violation of #7.

Re: POP goes the weasel?
Can I know when the popping will start again?
The day will come when there is a great Popping, and all those who believe will be taken away.
Also, when species go extinct, do they make a noise?
There is some debate. It's either a Crackle or a Snap.
Finally, how can a food chain, and the interdependence between organisms work in this case?
This is a good question. It seems likely that they popped into existance in order from simpliest to most complex. But they did so over an incredibly short amount of time (Approx 22 minutes.)
Of course, time worked a lot different during those 22 minutes (see above issues with your bias towards uniformism).
Perhaps you'd like to make a donation?

Re: Enough tooling around...
What is the purpose of science?
It seems like you think the purpose of science is to find truth. But I completely disagree. Science cannot tell us about truth. It can only help us create models of the world we observe. Those models help us manipulate the world.
Not truth, fact. "Truth" in my mind is something like wisdom. It's "True" that "Love conquers all".
Science can help us manipulate the world, but it can also help us explain the world. It can tell us cause and effect, for example. It can help us predict events based on data we observe.
As for Occam's Razor and the "Truth".
The statement "I know my theories to be true" is the basis on which I will fundamentally reject any suggestion that counters my theory. It's really quite simple, and apparently totally fair.
If you reject my truth, expect to get banned.
Now, back to the game -- I wanna hear some Crack pot theories outta you, Ben! I won't be satisfied until you make up at least one.

Re: POP goes the weasel?
Uniformism, as I am using it, means that what we observe today is the same processes that were in effect in the past, and are the same we expect to see in the future.
For example - If I kick a ball today, it goes forward. I would expect that if I had kicked a ball yesterday it would have done the same, and if I were to kick a ball tomorrow it would also go forward.
But, can we say that uniformism was in effect in the distant past when none of us were around? That's just an assumption.
All of science is built on that assumption, and therefore it's a house of cards. If uniformism is not true, then a great deal of popping could have happened in the past, and none of it may be happening today.

Re: Divine Pusher
Is it possible to push the pusher? I like to push things that are annoying.
I will answer this question in good faith, though I assume you have been pushed flat for just asking it.
No, nothing pushes the pusher. Is something could push the pusher, then they would be the pusher and the one we now call the pusher would just be some sort of "assistant pusher".

Re: ehy
I have answers. I've presented three of them here.
You have just descided to discard them out of hand and attack me personally.
That's your perogative, I guess. Doesn't seem like you're make much of a point of your own in the process though

Re: Divine Pusher
re: Natural vs Supernatural
This depends on the usages of the words. It seems like you are using "natural" to encompass everything in the known physical world and Supernatural to mean everything outside the known physical world.
I would answer that the pusher is a natural being, though one we can not observe. Much like the alleged "germs" I've heard so much about, except bigger.
What force does the pusher use? The force of will. For his divine will can push or not push all that he chooses.
As for the Flood, obviously it happened. Duh! Where do you think puddles come from? Heathen!
As for praying to the pusher. We must all seek out our own personal relationship with the pusher.

Re: Divine Pusher
But we can see "germs". By using electon microscopy, light microscopy, staining techniques, etc. We can also determine the infectious nature of "germs" by using Koch's postulates. So, we can detect, see, and predict the nature of "germs" or whatever you want to call pathogens.
Assumptions built on assumptions. You can't honestly tell me that when you look through a microscope you know for a fact that what you are seeing is real. You assume it's real.
The pusher would leave a mark of its physical existence
Um, hello, try jumping up! You'll notice you don't get far. That's the pusher. Do you really need more evidence than that? You Theory of Gravity people won't accept any evidence of the pusher. I already said earlier in this thread that the pusher exists, I know he exists and it's written down in a book.
I have been praying non-stop, even while I type, and I have not been blessed with a sign.
Lo! But the signs are all around you and you have but to open your eyes! You are typing you say, you are typing how? By PUSHING on your keys! The pusher works through you!

Re: Divine Pusher
Your post contained several logical points, but I couldn't be bother to read them.
Clearly your only purpose on these boards is to discredit people of good faith. You insistance on "Sciencanity" as your religion does nothing to disprove the KNOWN TRUTH that the Pusher is real!
I discount all you say out of hand, name you Heathen and dispatch cruisaders to eliminate you.
So there
