I talk to my pets quite a bit, and always have done so. It's amazing how they can listen to utterly obscene, foul rants against foul bosses or political figures, or just against "the way things are," as long as the rant is in a calm tone of voice and accompanied by scratching behind the ears or smooth strokes down the back. And, in this modern Intarweb Era, talking to the dog/ferret/cat is still a lot easier than all this typing.
