Re: and BiPlanes TOO!
all I know is what I've seen here and from the linked articles.
I'm just going on some 'common sense' thoughts on how this could work in practice. To me that bird had to be able to get around by more than just gliding from tree to tree or it's dead meat eventually.

Re: and BiPlanes TOO!
But not ones that are incapable of getting around otherwise.
If those leg feathers stay out to the side they cannot run at all.
Flying squirrels and Wallace's Frogs can run quite well.
And you even remark that the feet look like they are adapted to running.
That doesn't match.

i think they trail behind. i dunno. photos of fossils are so useless.
And you even remark that the feet look like they are adapted to running.
no no, the LEGS are adapted to running. the feet are perching feet, without a perching hallux.

I think they have to, at which point all bets are off on it not being a ground runner.
no, the LEGS are adapted to running. the feet are perching feet, without a perching hallux.
Sort of the same difference, eh? Of course if the leg action is running in the air, that could explain both running legs and perching feet.
