The Brights are taking a position in the debate about teaching ID in schools. If you are not a Bright please take a look here
The Brights' Net - Who are The Brights?
Consider joining. Read the latest bulletin and take the poll.
I took the poll and support the position. Where do you stand in this debate? Are there other ways we can have any input in the currently active court case?

What's in a name?
There are a lot of people with that same position. The web site has some letters and discussion on it. It a way, it does seem arrogant. But on the other side, did you complain when the homosexual community hijacked the word gay. I have a very dear woman friend with the name Gaynell who, long before the "gay" movement, went by the name Gay. What is she to do?
I wonder how many people have read this or any thread or message. I don't see any counters for that.

Truth fears no question.

Why oppose religion in the classroom?
I do not speak for all Brights, but I oppose it on at least two grounds.
Foremost, it is contrary to the constitution. Public schools are government run and presence there clearly implies approval and support. Those that believe in religion work day and night to infuse their brand of religion into the government. Schools are one place they are trying to open up a crack.
Second, as I observe the effects of religion, I am becoming more opposed to it by the day. I cerainly do not want it taught in schools, constitution or not. If you want to argue that, please check out the history of religion before you post. It is downright horrible.

who, where, why
Hello brennakimi,
Thank you for your thoughts.

i like my sky-daddy, thanks. and i'd rather like to keep him and honestly i don't want to share him with you cause i don't think you're good enough
Would you be so kind as to tell me who is your sky-daddy? Why do you think he exists? Where is he? I have heard this in many variations but have not heard these questions answered?
I am carrying on an internal debate about this being off topic, but this is about brights who specifically do not believe in supernatural entities. I am a bright and am wondering if you have an argument that can convince me of your position.
I don't know where my signature originated, but it is appropriate.
