looks like our team is slipping rank folks, so an additional member or two would help. maybe an arm or a leg?
results moving up though. we broke the 4k barrier.

Linux version
Yes, I saw that too. I am considering converting, having an unused second hard-drive from another laptop that died. This would be a full swapout reconfiguration to only linux on the other hard-drive, followed by installation of opensuite software for general use, a browser (gotta hava browwer), etc.
My big concern is drivers and operating software for things like my dvd/cd-writer, printers, scanners, camera, and the like.
Welcome aboard, 10!

HIV
I saw my first HIV module on my work computer today. You might want to dedicate one machine to that program, I think the modules might be smaller for that application, and it does go directly to the question.
I don't mind cleaning up the protein folding because of the vast medical implications to many different diseases. But I am also excited to see the same power applied to HIV.

I thought of forcing one machine to HIV and the other to the proteins, to ensure the I cover both bases rather than let it be arbitrary. So far I've only had one HIV module.

Re: HIV
did you try forcing it to HIV? my laptop is maxed out at 224 RAM - I'd have to remove some to add some, and that isn't cost effective imh(ysa)o.
They need to make USB ram sticks ....

Can we set those machines that can do the HIV modules to do those only, and leave the protein folding to our smaller machines?
For FightAIDS@Home, the minimum requirements are:
At least a 550MHz Intel Pentium™ processor or equivalent
At least 250 MB RAM (with virtual memory enabled)
600 MB Hard Disk Drive with at least 50 MB available for use
The ability to display 8-bit graphics at 800x600 resolution
An Internet connection with minimum 40 kbps speed
Operating System: Windows 98, ME, 2000 or XP
My laptop won't do the HIV (I tried to force it by only picking that) even though it has everything needed except it's 17 megs of ram short.
I might have to pony up and get a solstice present for the machine.

they may have decided to move all 'heavy duty' equipment over to HIV in their division of labour paradigm
