Pearls Before Swine
This comic is becoming a favorite of mine. Here are a couple more recent entries:
Oh, and something cute from Oliphant:

War on Christmas
You know Dan, I'm beginning to believe the fundies may be on to something here. Perhaps we all could use a bit more Jesus in our retail adverts, d'ya think? It's so exciting to imagine that I might one day open my Sunday paper and see "Jesus is the Reason for a whole Season of Values at your local Victoria's Secret! Lace panties half-off all through December."

Re: Consti Who tion!
Thanks for that, kj. It reminded me of something I haven't read in years. I went searching a bit and found it: Gene Ziegler's What If Dr. Seuss Wrote Technical Manuals? It was written several years ago, so if you can remember what technical manuals were like about the time that the 486 and Pentium computers were popular this will mean even more to you. It's hilarious! My favorite part:
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
And the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
And the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
Then the socket packet pocket has an error to report!
If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash,
And the double-clicking icon puts your window in the trash,
And your data is corrupted 'cause the index doesn't hash,
Then your situation's hopeless, and your system's gonna crash!
You can't say this? What a shame sir!
We'll find you another game sir.
If the label on the cable on the table at your house,
Says the network is connected to the button on your mouse,
But your packets want to tunnel on another protocol,
That's repeatedly rejected by the printer down the hall,
And your screen is all distorted by the side effects of gauss
So your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse,
Then you may as well reboot and go out with a bang,
'Cause as sure as I'm a poet, the sucker's gonna hang!

Pearls Before Swine - Out of 'A's
This little series (available at Yahoo Comics) really cracked me up this week. I didn't think it was going to amount to much at first, the real payoff comes at the end:

RAZD writes me:

Ever read "The Wonderful 'O'" by James Thurber?
No, but it sounds like something I'd love. I think I've got the Thurber Carnival somewhere around, is it part of that?
I remember reading Walter Mitty years ago; I loved it. Thanks for the tip.

Golden Globes: Best Joke at an Awards Show goes to...
George Clooney!
Did anyone hear him talking about Jack Abramoff a few hours ago at the Globes? He said something like "who in hell would name their kid something that starts with 'jack' and ends with 'off'?"

Black-Eyed Peas ft. George W. Bush
This is soooo funny! Regardless of your politics you should check it out. Crooks & Liars has the video, from MAD TV.
