In the "Eye of a Needle" thread, you posted that Christians and Jews wanted a Monarchy, specifically a Theocratic monarchy. As the king would have to be god, I guess the nobility would be the priesthood. Where did you get that from?Inquiring minds want to know.------------------

Actually, in monarchy, the king is not God but he plays God on earth. The head of the state religion (vicar of God) annoints him to represent God. He is indeed a god but not The God. The priesthood are nobility as are others who hold secular offices.I got this from a bit of theological knowledge combined with: a vague understanding of Pre-democratic English Government, and a healthy dose of ancient Hebrew history as pertains to the establishment and succession of leadership (government).Theology is the "science" which validates theocracy. It explains how a mortal human can be authorized to exercise god-like power over his fellows; i.e. how a man can become one with God.Sound familiar?Outside the context of theocratic government, theology has little value.db------------------

Thank you.I will differ slightly in that as I don't think that a personable god really exists, then what they want is not not a religious monarchy, but a stell-fisted, jack-booted Theocracy where "death is just a cotinuation of justice for the heathen"
