Re: A bit odd in the stats
Hi, Team EvC folks...I'll be signing up my home PC this week after I upgrade--as some of you know, merely chatting is enough to blow me out of the water right now.
Also, I hope to add my employers network (which I admin ) to the cause in the coming weeks.
Now, if I can just hack my way into the university via my wife's faculty account...

Re: Somebody else too?
Yup, I'm in with a first home box. Hope to add several in the office this week, and over the coming weeks will be adding FrankenPuters here at home.

Okay, first office device added; I'll try to set up one more office box today...
I have my eye on a new high-end XP box that sits idle 95% of the time (when not crunching 24-hour EKG recordings)--just have to add it to the DSL-linked network. My goal is 10 boxes in total by the end of the year...

Not with my plodders
Well, so far RAZD I've only got a couple of s l o w boxes hooked up. But I do believe I can get a few hares and a bunch more tortoises in harness in the office within the next few weeks, and I've got the parts to cobble together a four-box network of FrankenPuters here at home over the holidays.
I'd happily sign them up as anyone's, really...I just couldn't resist tweakin' Ringo a bit: I loved that old song when I was a kid...
And like Ringo, I can't resist the opportunity to do good doing nothing: at work, I can even do it on somebody else's hardware and power bill--the corporate landlord's, as it turns out, since my employers pay flat rent without utilities--and that pushes all my buttons, do-gooder Scout and white trash bad boy alike.

Re: HIV
They need to make USB ram sticks ....
I have a friend who swears that forcing the Windows swap file to a 1 GB USB stick worked wonders on his old machine.
Many years ago we were copying WP 5.1 for DOS into a RAM drive at boot up, then popping it up as a text editor in a document management system. Amazing what you could do with the old DOS and expanded/extended memory technology if you were willing to do the laborious custom-fitting.
AbE: I thought we'd have dozens of members by now.

Re: Proteins need love too
So far all my tasks have been proteins, though I'm signed up for both.
BTW, Team EvC members, consider a recruitment pitch like the sig below...in your own unique flavor, of course.

Welcome, Parasomnium!
Today I added my second office machine for a total of three (one at home). More coming...all slow, but awfully earnest.

Re: Welcome and thank you
C'mon, Robin...sign up. It's easy, no technical wizardry required, and it makes a great screensaver.
I think it looks particularly good over a Chilean or Californian cabernet balancing an oakish presentation and long berry finish, perhaps with some baked brie and cold roast beef.
Your results may vary.

Nope, that's a universal law, Asgara.

Look to your ports, sir...
I've added another device.
More are coming soon.
Shame on you, young whippersnapper, passing an old man while he's ailing...
