If we can get about 9 or 10 more
TEAM EvC should break into the top 300 Teams. Let's see if we can break into the top 300's before the first of the year.

There's a noticable lack of Christians on the Team
but unfortunately, that's pretty much to be expected. Christians don't seem to want to help others unless there's something in it for them.

Even if they were that ignorant, there is the genome project they could help with. But instead, they have not stepped up to "do for the least of these".

Re: computer gods
They seem to believe that with enough computing power anythiing can be solved.
Not really. What we believe is without enough computing power things will NOT get solved.

Re: Creepy
I always turn the computer off when I am not using it, the idea of letting it be on the net full time is creepy.
That's fine. You don't have to leave it on the net full time. I may just be that you and others don't understand how the grid works.
The application downloads a program to your computer. Your computer then works the problem. Once completed it contacts the grid, uploads the results and downloads the next project to work on.
In Preferences you can set when it can work on problems (although it only uses unused resources at anytime) as well as connection times.

and TWO of our members have returned over 100 results each. That is fantastic.

Re: Wondering Why NOT More Members?
Since I can't run it, I didn't probe further but I am curious... is there any sense that this data is double checked? This is the age of hackers who like nothing more than to screw things up. What is to prevent a hacker from screwing with science by creating plausible but wholly false results (during or after processing)?
Yes, it is at the least double checked. The same calculations are assigned to two or more similar machines and the results cross checked. Since work units are assigned one at a time, and since they are simply down loaded to a suitable machine where they run independantly until the result is returned, it would be difficult to tamper with the results. In addition, if the results returned do not agree, the work unit is reassigned.
The only things transmitted are the initial calculation to be performed, and the result returned.
