I thought someone would have done this by now, but here are my NYR''s in no particular order.
1. Get out of my high school teaching job. 2. Secure funding for Phd. 3. Cut down on alcohol. 4. Have an article published. 5. Try to be more tolerant at EvC. Brian.

I vow to make no New Year's Resolutions this year. Whoops!
Happy New Year, everyone!

The necessity of changing out my calander never fails to bring to mind all of the shortcomings of my life, so I resolve to make only those resolutions I will without question keep. Thus, I am willing to swear, on forfeit of all my worldy goods, to keep the following resolutions for the next year:
1. Don't go to Sunday Services at a Southern Baptist church.2. Don't eat chitterlings. 3. Don't get a woman pregnant. 4. Don't shoot heroin. 5. Don't join the Republican Party. Remind me to check my progress this time next year.

My News Years resolution is to stop thinking about exercising and actually exercise!

At the beginning of every new year the New Year's Resolutionists flood into my club and make the exercise machines incredibly popular. By February the machines are again quiet and lonely (relatively).
Some personalities can make themselves do things that are good for them by sheer force of will. The rest of us have to find things that are good for us that we also enjoy. Find something you love that's also exercise and you'll never need to make this resolution again. Best of luck! --Percy

My husband is a chronic exerciser (triathlete) and he gets annoyed with the resolution exercisers because they clog the machines.
Most of my "exercise" deals with outdoor work during the summer. Winter is my down time. I have an eliptical in the basement, just need to get there. My mother says I make excuses, but I tell her I have no excuse. I have plenty of time and I have the machines, I am just not inclined towards organized exercise. This is my first year at actually making that resolution, we'll see how it goes. I bought my husband a bike trainer for the basement, so maybe I'll join him in the basement a few nights a week. I definitely won't be cloging up anyone's gym though. There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it. -Edith Wharton

Another alternative might be to learn something new that is also active, whether it is modern dance, tai chi, or raquetball, the point being that there is interest in the activity to keep you going.

I'm giving up exercise for Lent. I figure that's the least I can do.

here are a few of my resolutions, also in no particular order:
1) avoid unproductive EvC interactions. 2) teach myself to roll sushi (that's carrried over from last year) 3) maintain my current exercise regime and continue to lose exess weight (I've lost about 15 pounds so far, hope to lose about 10 more) 4) spend less money on things I don't really want or need

2) teach myself to roll sushi (that's carrried over from last year) Mine is to perect my roll, also carried over from last year. But mine is in a kayak This will give me more independance. Then I get to try surfing on tidal currents. we are limited in our ability to understand by our ability to understand RebelAAmerican.Zen[Deist

Hi Schrafinator,
I found out that one of the tricks is getting good high quality rice. And fanning the hell out of it to make it very sticky. Its all about the fanning. I want some sushi now.

Sushi rice is polished; it erodes the grains and exposes raw starches on the surface. Starch is sticky, so sushi rice is sticky.
I don't know anything about the fanning. Never heard of that. Not even sure what you mean.
