Re: "asterixed out" words / Also board code in titles
Do you want examples of asterisked out words, or of posts which read like broken records? You can find both towards the end of this thread.

Weird - Board been hacked? !!!
Unless Percy just got a strange bit of perverse humor in him, I can't imagine the changing of Haekel to ****** and such to be a result of his efforts.
Did I get that word spelled correctly (lekeaH backwards) Let's see what previews and posts.
OK - Misspelling or otherwise, it didn't disappear in preview. Looked it up - Let's try ******* (lekceaH backwards).
OK the asterisks show up in preview. In the other messages (per link), they also showed up in the raw text (Peek Mode).

Re: Weird - Board been hacked? !!!
As a measure to counter Randman's tendency to bring up ******* in every thread, and to call people ***** , I temporarily enabled the censor feature and entered a few words. It's probably served its purpose already if you want to turn it off.

Turned "Censor Option" off, and did rebuild
Rebuild didn't seem to get rid of the *'s upthread. Are they permanent now? So it seems.
Adminnemooseus
Added by edit: It seems that the *'s are permanent, but the "pre-censorship" topics were not effected (or is that affected?). See Why are Haeckel's drawings being taught in school?.

Re: Bump
You're not alone. Maybe Jar can get with Nwr and try to fix the email problems. I'm swamped till this release is out.

Speaking of Bugs
The chatroom has been working really strange on my computer. Several unusual situations have been observed.
1) I am getting booted quite frequently. Only admins have the power to do this, and our admins would never do such a thing. Obviously some bug is afoot!
2) vowels were missing in some of our chat conversations, but I think that this was a joke amonst the room participants and not an actual bug.
3) Names appear in the chatting now list that are not in the online list. While I have been told that this happens occasionally with Java, it appears to be a more frequent and unexplained occurance lately. Percy, I dont understand how the java applet works and,as a chat admin, I should know such things. It is not conducive to admin relations if only SOME of us know all the little secrets, now, is it???
