quote:
Bush was not the only one deceived on WMD's. Most of the world was deceived.
That's not true.
Most of the world protested the war because there was not sufficient evidence of WMD in Iraq.
Don't you remember seeing on the news the millions and millions of people, particularly in Europe, who participated in frequent massive public protests?
I don't suppose that FOX news gave those protests a lot of coverage, so maybe you didn't.

We knew Saddam had used WMD's against the Turks.
Actually, it was the
Kurds.
And that was done with Reagan's and Rumsfeld's blessing.
Why was it OK back then but bad now?
quote:
9/11 was a wakeup call for war against terrorism which Iraq supported.
In your opinion, will the "war on terrorism" ever be won?
Is it possible that by invading Iraq and killing tends of thousands of Iraqis, we are actually adding fuel to the fire of terrorism by creating more suffering, more poverty, more death, and more hatred of America?
quote:
The War On Terror by the Bush admin has likely been one reason there have not been additional attacks in the US. It has been an effective deterrant. Nations supporting terrorism have been put on notice.
No they haven't.
What those nations know is that now the US is
more vulnerable now than before because it is stretched far to thin militarily and couldn't effectively respond to another major terrorist attack now if one happened.
Our civil liberties are being eroded in the name of "being safe", so the "freedom" we all enjoy is less, and our government now thinks it is OK to secretly spy on US citizens without a warrant so there's no oversight and no record, therefore
no accountability.
The NeoCon's "war on terror" seems to be a smokescreen to slip us closer and closer to an authoritarian government in which Big Brother is ever present and we all had better watch what we say, what books we read, and who we associate with.
