Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson suggested Thursday that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s stroke was divine punishment for “dividing God’s land.”
“God considers this land to be his,” Robertson said on his TV program “The 700 Club.” “You read the Bible and he says ”This is my land,’ and for any prime minister of Israel who decides he is going to carve it up and give it away, God says, ”No, this is mine.”
Look I'm no fan of Sharon, but can he quit this crap? I can't wait until he gets very ill; what will his explanation be then? If anyone deserves to be punished by god, it's this clown.
Robertson is a clear example of what religion warns about. A man using the name of god to do the work of satan. If people who followed the bible were serious they would denounce this evil assclown. (and yes, I know some christians here have done just that. Kudos to them)

Re: Yes, the 700 club is an example of Christianity at its worst...
Should he become ill, I would pray that GOD help heal him, just as I did for Gene Scott, another charlatan and snake-oil salesman.
Jar, you are a better man than me.
Seriously, you're right, I really shouldn't get so upset as to wish illness upon anyone. It just takes me down to their level.
Thanks for the reminder..
Cheers

hahahaha
P.S. If mini dika and others were pleased with Pat, then I would be concerned that Pat was of the world and not of Christ
You know, if I had not read some of your posts on here before that actually might offend me....
Hey man, I may not like what ol Patty boy says, but I definitely support his right to say it.
Honestly, everytime that dude opens his mouth he just marginalizes himself more and more.
I'm faithful to my fiancee! I went to a university! Can I pass a torch too????!?!?!?!?

Re:
Did you know that Pat Robertson used airplanes purchased from donations from his viewers - donations solicited in order to use these airplanes to provide emergency medical supplies and treatments to Rwandans - to ferry equipment to and from his diamond mines across Africa? The airplanes never flew their mission of mercy.
Wow..... you know Crash I thought Pat was kind of a kook and a charlatan, but that is REALLY bad. I had no idea he was THAT bad. You've really opened my eyes here, I now view these people in a totally different light. I think "evil moron" is actually the wrong term. Because he's definitely evil, but not a moron

Robertson better hope us atheists are right.... god may be forgiving, but I bet he isn't that forgiving.

Re: more evil PR
I truly do not understand how anyone can respect this man - he is not Christ-like, he is anti-Christ-like.
Bingo, we have a winner... Actually, the more I read the news (and this board) the more I think that if there is a god, then fundamentalists are DEFINITELY followers of Satan.
I mean look at the fundamentalist movement. They've basically thrown out EVERYTHING IT MEANS to be christian and replaced it with hate and dogma. It seems the perfect vessel for Satan; to use the corrupted church as his weapon. Fortunately I don't really believe in any of this.
I have to give Jar some props. The more I read his views on what christianity should be all about the more I agree with them.
I think fundamentalism has suceeded in taking christ out of christianity.
People forget that in his day jesus was a liberal hippie.

Re: Blanket condemnation alert!
Good point moose, as always...
Although I have to say. I had not seen the diamond mine thing before.
That is SUPER shady.
If you feel this is going nowhere, feel free to close.
It's a slow week at work! What can I say!
