Re: Anti-family values
may I assume that you consider AIDS infections to be pro-family value?
it's funny that the anti-darwinists are often the same people as the social darwinists.

hey hey hey wait a minute.
...The Simpsons ... That 70s Show...
those happen to be very good shows. i regularly watch that 70's show with my parents.
and the simpsons takes a suprisingly compassionate view on christian fundamentalism. ned flanders isn't there to make them look stupid, or idiotic, or laughable. there's quite a lot of actual depth there.

Re: a spokesperson
Nicely said! Don't rightly recollect a place where Christ said to let someone else do our thinking for us. That is sooooooooo lemming.
seek, and ye shall find.

Arachnophilia, I don't know if you saw that message, but you were the prime "other member" I was thinking of. What's the matter with you two?
ok, that last one was actually meant to be a valid (if cryptic) point. dorfman indicated that christ never said to defer our freedom of thought to another. i was indicating that he did imply an individualistic approach -- the people who look at the people who find. we are not handed reason.
of course, the statement can, and is read the opposite way as well, which would be contrary to his post.
would you rather i quoted one of the most well-known verse in the bible, and explained that either argument can be supported by it?

jesus christ
at least ideally. in a real world, we christians are often a very poor representation of him.

Re: Duh
If Jesus were here, on this board right now, would he back up his claims with evidence, randman?
no, he'd tell a fictional anecdote as an example of his principles.

great scott!
