I don't think it really matters in context here. Her stance towards "human rights" in advocating gay marriage, etc,...is pretty clear. So the question remains if openly advocating for human rights could be perceived as prejudicial.

It looks too cozy to me. Yup, we know that. But when has a concern for human rights and against oppression been wrong? In addition to being a issue totally unrelated to the case in question, her support of human rights as opposed to oppression is something that ALL Christians should applaud. We need more folk on the bench supporting human rights. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

Your OP questions whether or not a Judge who supports human rights and opposes oppression should recuse herself from a case involving possible criminal misconduct. I see no possible reason for such an action. We need more judges that support human rights, not fewer.

Whether or not the person deserves to serve time cannot be determined, and I have no opinion on that. As you were told, oh, around message 2 IIRC, we don't have sufficient information to make such a judgement.
And Gay Rights ARE Human Rights. Are you opposed to human rights? Aslan is not a Tame Lion

That may not be the dumbest post I've seen at EvC, but it certainly is a contender. How 'bout we parse it?
Do you think adult homosexual men should legally be allowed to have sex with consensual male teens or not? Why, other than overt homophobia, did you insert the word "homosexual"? Aslan is not a Tame Lion

Please point out the redundancy?
Here is your quote once again:
randman writes: Do you think adult homosexual men should legally be allowed to have sex with consensual male teens or not? You inserted the word homosexual. It would not matter if it were an adult male with a minor male, and adult male with a minor female, and adult female with a minor male or an adult female with a minor female. The issue was one of sex between an adult and a minor, and the adult was found guilty. Your insertion of homesexuality, and your absolutely absurd insertion of whether a judge who supports human rights should recuse herself from a case involving criminal behavior is simply an attempt by you to insert your own belief that some people do not deserve human rights. The case was resolved. Everyone deserves equal rights. Your posts promoting oppresion of individuals are totally off topic and but a reflection of the bigotry of the Christian Conservative Movement. Well, the thread is here for the important audience, the real audience, the readers. They will have a record and can make informed judgements on the techniques and motives of the partcipants.
You had an answer IIRC on Message 2 as to whether or not the judgement was reasonable. To repeat what has been said many times, we cannot judge based on a newspaper snippet, particularly from a source like WND. You also persist in calling the judge pro-gay when that is certainly not the case. She has never supported gays having rights supperior to anyone else or some special status. What she does support is human rights, equal rights. Do you support human rights randman? Aslan is not a Tame Lion

Does this type of thing deserve prison or jail-time? See Message 2 and all the other times you've been told the same thing. Now... do you support human rights, randman? Aslan is not a Tame Lion

I do, but I do not think, as you apparently do, that it is necessarily a human right for gay men to have sex with male teens. I say "as you do" because I think the only logical conclusion for your reluctance to answer forthrightly is that you must think it is a human right. Please point out where I have said that adults having sex with minors is a human right. If you cannot point out where I have said that, please retract your assertion and apologize. Waiting for you to either support your assertion or retract it and appologize.
randman, there is no excuse for your complete disregard for forum guidelines and even basic honesty. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

randman, there is no excuse for your complete disregard for forum guidelines and even basic honesty. It is amazing when you can pretend that the questions in the OP have not been answered time after time, yet you feel free to make assertions about what others say. Please see Message 2 Now when are you going to support your assertions? Aslan is not a Tame Lion

You have made a specific assertion.
randman writes: I do, but I do not think, as you apparently do, that it is necessarily a human right for gay men to have sex with male teens. I say "as you do" because I think the only logical conclusion for your reluctance to answer forthrightly is that you must think it is a human right. I asked you quite reasonably to support your assertion.
jar writes: Please point out where I have said that adults having sex with minors is a human right. If you cannot point out where I have said that, please retract your assertion and apologize. Now you have implied that I believe that adults having sex with minors is a human right. I see no reason why you do not either provide the specific quotes where I said that or simply admit that you were once again misrepresenting what others say. Aslan is not a Tame Lion
