Who represents Christians if Falwell, Dobson and Robertson don't?

I have been wondering about the complaints I have been hearing from Christians who say that Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson and James Dobson do not speak for them even though they are the three most prominent Christian political and religious figures in America today.Clearly, all three are radical right-wing Fundamentalists and only represent a small but vocal minority of Christians in the US. However, they are the only prominent political Christian voices I ever hear, and this tends to color my view of American Protestant Christians overall.Why is there no organized, vocal mainstream Christian opposition to these men, and if they do not represent "the rest of the Christians", who does?Admin, please put this wherever you think best, thanks.

How exactly is gay-marriage being "pushed" by the media? It seems to be a grassroots effort that is getting little if any help from the media. Other than a low-budget documentary I came across at midnight on a PBS station, once (you know, the kind of documentary where the director/camera operator/caterer are all the same person, that the sound person has the same last name!).

Falwell is interviewed on CNN frequently about political issues, and Streisand and Penn are not. Falwell has many thousands, perhaps millions, or faithful supporters who send him lots of money. Babs and Penn do not.Falwell claims he speaks for all Christian conservatives.On national television. Quite frequently.If he doesn't, then who does?

Jimmy Carter is a good choice, but he doesn't really comment upon religious issues because he considers it pretty private, I believe.

All I am saying is that if the vast majority of mainstream, "normal" Christians don't want Falwell and Robertson and Hinn and Dobson and all the rest of the crazies to represent them, then why aren't they getting together to support and promote a spokesperson that would combat these radical wackos?

Dobson has a conference call with the White House almost weekly. More during an election year.

Jesus is dead, so he can't represent anybody.

If Jesus were here, on this board right now, would he back up his claims with evidence, randman?Would he follow rule #4 of the forum rules?Or, would He demand that everybody else do His research for Him?
