These are two things I definately need to do. I think the message boards are almost worse for your health.

Only if you have fantasies to nurture, love and protect.

Yeah that would be difficult. Even more difficult is having to deal with this kind of trash.

Why take offense? The only danger of message forums is the danger that one might be exposed to conflicting ideas. And the only people who need fear ideas are those who need to believe very very bad ideas.

Sorry John I just grow weary of mockery of Christianity, or any other religion for that matter. I am in the midst of moving and was tired and grouchy when I read that post.
Happy New Year!

Why does it bother you to see other religions mocked? They are all wrong, 'cept for yours.

I didn't think we came here to mock each others ideas and beliefs, but to discuss them.
I think it's just plain wrong to mock anyone, I have friends with all sorts of different beliefs, and I don't ridicule them for believing differently than I do.
I guess I'm just whining.

Forgiven, why do you want to stop posting? Waste of time? I find it helps to sharpen my ideas. Not that I have many of those, but anyway . . .

I think, John, there is a bitterness deep down in your heart. I like that.

Discuss.... mock.... it is a very fine line, imho. Often, just disagreeing will get one labeled as hostile.

I am sure you will disagree, but I don't try to mock anyone. I will say point blank when something doesn't make sense and I'll say why. This doesn't go over well with certain personalities. I try to draw parallels and make analogies. Often, people don't like the implications and I get blamed. It is easier than thinking.
hmmmm.... let me try again. From where I sit, it looks like this: unfavorable comparisons or comments get labelled 'mockery' or some such dismissive term. I don't post purely to irritate or to ridicule, but it seems that just asking the right questions has that effect.

I fight with all my friends and quickly lose interest in friends who don't fight back (well).
