Hello Readers.
I was watching on tv this evening a show called, "tribal", and this man was taken to a village that had headhunters and believed in Cannablism.
The tribe gave the visitor a root called Aboga Root, believed to see spirts, and also has been known to help herion addicts, depression, and other problems....... Does anyone know where i can do more study's of this root? I'm unsure of the correct spelling, but its pronounced:
Ah-boe-gah Root....... and it's known to create hallucinations, and used somewhere in Nigera?
Anymore information pertaining to this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Google?
This link was as close as I could get on Google, the search engine. Welcome to EvC, by the way--anita! This is the place to propose new topics, so maybe we can turn this into a topic if we find more of what an Aboga Root is. Maybe other admins can guide you in this. Right now, however, this is not a topic.

    Do you mean abuta?
I did a google search for "stimulant root nigeria" (without the quotes). One of the responses was a reference to "abuta". Separate searches for "abuta" and "abuta root" yield many responses.
I'm not sure if that is what you are looking for.
As AdminPhat indicated, this does not look like a promising discussion topic.

    Re: Google?
Thank you to the individuals who took the time for me to find out what i was in search for.
Question? What sorts of topic's do you impose that are topic worthy and is there a critera one must meet other than someone not having a interest in the subject to be "topic worthy"?
Thank you for your time in advance
    Regards
    Anita

    Topic development
Hi again, anita, and you are most welcome.
The links below may be helpful.
Question? What sorts of topic's do you impose that are topic worthy and is there a critera one must meet other than someone not having a interest in the subject to be "topic worthy"?
You should certainly have an interest in your proposed topic!
Try to find a perspective on the subject that is amenable to debate, then consider which forum it would best suit.
For example, iboga can be considered a sacrament, as it is used to induct candidates into the cult via a rite of passage based on the visionary experience it creates. You could generalize this to other shamanistic practices and argue for their usefulness in modern cultures, argue for their inappropriateness and risks, etc. What is your perspective?
You can post your proposed topic here, and we will help you put it in good form.
