I need to udnerstand what Dr Wells means about certain things. For example, the sentance 'there is no evidence of beneficial mutations on a macro level' does not seem to make any sense what so ever. There are beneficial mutations.. what does Dr Wells mean 'on a macro level'? Ill defined terms make the statement meaningless.
As for there being an 'increase of information', would a mutation that allows an organism to do something it could never to before. I will point out the mutation that allows a bacerium to to digest nylon waste.
Brand new mutation.. brand new information.

nteresting that you ask me to limit myself to the topic even as you don't limit yourself in that manner.
And believing in a supernatural God doesn't violate science, rather is totally consistent. Observable science tells us that our natural laws prohibit life from arising from non-life unassisted. Thus a supernatural first cause is logically needed.
There is no evidence your statement is correct. We are accumulating data that shows that a supernatural force is not required to have
primative life formed from organic chemicals in the proper environment.

Re: logical?
So you believe just mentioning "God" means one loses a debate, eh?
It depends on what the debate is. If the subject is science, then yes. If the subject basically is " I can not understand how it could be otherwise" when it comes to how life formed, or how the cosmos formed etc etc, it becomes an appeal to personal incrediblity.
An appeal to the lack of understanding on our part to be 'god' makes god retreat every time we do understand something. Disese used to be 'god's will'. We have better medicinces now, and we know about virus's and bacteria. We know about how weather works. We know what causes lightning strikes. We know the mechanmics about why tornado's form.
It isn't zues throwing those lightning bolts.. it isn't a curse from god that is causing people to catch the flu. And, it is starting to become clearer on how the first self replicating organic molecules formed on the early earth..

Re: Definition of terms does matter
On the contrary, if you understood the hebrew in Genesis, evolution is quite compatable with it. But that is off topic in this thread.
