Will we reach a point in the general field of the sciences where the specialests are so specialized and the knowledge so vast that there will be a need for a degree in generallism for someone to see connections between fields or various aspects of them?
What impact might this have on the advancement of scientific knowledge?
What might entail a recognized field in generalism?
Has anyone seriously considered the idea?
