And if animals have a "soul" does that include fish? insects? bacteria? plants or trees?
What function is being represented by the word "soul"? Going into detail might illuminate the problem or it may as Wittgenstein pointed lead us to understand that we are not talking sense but only a syntax the gives an illusion of sense.
