I've read a lot of negative comments about Walt Brown on this forum, and would like to determine whether or not I agree with those comments. I'm wondering if there is a way that those who do not think highly of Mr. Brown or his ideas, could agree on which is the most scientifically unfounded thing he proposes. Then I could look into it and form an opinion. This probably isn't good as a topic yet. Let me know if this is even a possability.

Yes, it needs a bit more fleshing out.
Rather than have others control the debate why don't you pick one or two very specific ideas of WB and present them? If you don't others may pick ones you don't like anyway. If you search for Walt Brown you may find the answer to your question anyway.

Ok, I've started reading the one on asteroids because it's only 3 pages long. Maybe that will be helpful to me. Thanks for your comments.

Walt Brown Pros and Cons
The local radio pastor, Gino Geraci is well respected in the Christian community. He recomends Dr. Walt Brown as a source for creationism knowledge.
After participating at EvC forum for awhile, I have noticed that Walt Brown has been debunked by the science side of the forum, but I have never cared much for the YEC debate as I do not believe it.
Did you care to edit your original message and take some of Neds suggestions along with it?
I would consider promoting a Walt Brown topic in the Faith/Belief side of the board but never in the science side.

Walt Brown on the Science Side
I disagree. Walt Brown is explicitly claming scientific support for his ideas. The science side is exactly where the discussion belongs so that the science can be examined.

My two cents
I guess I agree with Nosy, since I, too, would like to see this topic discussed in the science forums.
Christian may actually not be that interested in making this a thread anymore, since she accepted the suggestion to investigate one claim in greater detail and says she is now reading a thread about asteroids.
But I still think this would make a pretty good thread. Christian's OP suggests picking Walt Brown's most "unfounded thing", but that's probably a matter of opinion. If Christian is agreeable, I think she should pick a Walt Brown position that strikes her as very interesting, and then we could explore it.
