For wine bottles?
Hi Jar:
It's a knife for cutting the wrapper around the top portion of a wine bottle that covers the cork. And just for the record, I only just saw this link and knew what the first divice was almost instantly...seeing as how I have about five of the things hanging from assorted vests. Oh well...

Hello: Let me see how many I can get wrong (I'm betting at least three).
1) Assorted devices for starting a fire (knife to cut
shavings...sparker for flint...magnifying glass to burn ants ).
2) A device that you put on your desk and use to hold a piece of
paper that you are copying (i.e. typing) to your computer.
3) I have no idea. Obviously to cut something only to a certain
depth...therefore leaving what's under it uncut.
