Just for the fun of it I'd like to start a thread on identifying common objects.Here's how it works.I will provide a picture of an objcet. The goal is to identify what it is and what its primary purpose is. It may well have secondary purposes, things that it CAN be used for beyond its primary purpose, but they will not answer the question. and actually there is a common part missing from the photo, one that should not affect the identification, but that I took off to use for some other device. If you have a picture of the object with the missing part and happen to be the one who first identifies this one, maybe you can post a pic with the missing part included.Remeber, additional views are available if someone feels they are needed.

No. If it had been I bet cavediver would have jumped all over it. I will tell you that it is NOT specifically related to diving though it might be able to be used for some diving related task.Would it help if I provided pictures of another tool that is related to the primary function of this tool (though admitedly on a different scale)?

Very good. It is a Line Clipper, used to snip the end of line, the U shaped end to help remove hooks, the slot is used to straighten hooks or leader, the small pointed awl to open the eyes of hooks or hollow center lead shot, the knife for cutting line or opening split lead shot. Now it's up to you to post the next "What in the World?"

But I will call "Thread starter's prerogative" and since you don't have a pic, I'll post another.Now right up front I'll say this is a knife, but one with a very special purpose. Answering a KNIFE will not be sufficient. The answer has to identify the Primary Purpose or function of the knife.Here is the first picture.

No, but might be usefull for them suckers but a pry bar, one about 6 feet long is probably better for that.Here's another view to help. Remember, it is related to the first object although the scale is different.
