kjsimons got it.
It is a rigging knife. The pointed thing is called a Marlin Spike and is used when splicing ropes to open the gap under a strand. The blade is called a sheepsfoot and has a blunt end.
Congratulations kjsimons! Do you have an object to post?

robot band-aids
Band-aids for a bleeding robot?
Ha! but no.
That is synthetic blood, though.
I'll post the answer with a link in a little while.

The answer.....TOSI
Strips used for corrosion testing?
The are used for disinfection validation. They are called "TOSI coupons". That stands for Test Object Surgical Instrument.
They have sythetic blood and fibrin coated on them and if you can clean the fake blood and fibrin off of them, then you can clean the real blood and fibrin off of surgical instruments.
Here is a website on them.

More Mystery Objects
OK, I'm game.
All good things come in threes, they say, so I took the liberty to give you three mystery objects at once.
No. 1 is obviously a Swiss army knife, but it's not just an ordinary one; it has a special purpose. I've partially taken out three tools that have a connection with this special purpose.
In picture no. 2, I've included an egg for scale, so don't be a smart alec and say it's an egg. The object on the left is the one you're supposed to take a guess at.
In picture no. 3, I've decided to leave out a scale reference, to make it harder.
Good luck.

"Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science." - Charles Darwin.
Did you know that most of the time your computer is doing nothing? What if you could make it do something really useful? Like helping scientists understand diseases? Your computer could even be instrumental in finding a cure for HIV/AIDS. Wouldn't that be something? If you agree, then join World Community Grid now and download a simple, free tool that lets you and your computer do your share in helping humanity. After all, you are part of it, so why not take part in it?

Re: More Mystery Objects
1. wine opener
Wrong. What's the magnifying glass for? Why does it have the forked ending? What's the rod for?
2. chocolate covered cherry
If you bite this one, the next person you'll see is your dentist.
3. European toilet lid.
Maybe, just for you, I should have included a scale reference. Anyway, I wouldn't advise anyone to sit down on a toilet lid that, for some obscure reason, has the word 'cut' on it.

The middle one next to the egg looks like a knife sharpener to me.
